Well Christmas has come and gone and a new year has begun. Somehow although we celebrated with family it just didn't feel the same, a little less laughter, and a lot of extra spinach dip. I guess we now know who ate all the dip during the holidays. I didn't seem up to making the jam thumbprints as I knew there biggest fan would not be here to enjoy them! Roger stepped in to help build the "some assembly required items" as we have been left with a vacancy in this department. A new year is supposed to be a fresh start but I am not sure any of us are ready to leave the and move on without you! We miss you terribly! I hope you had a beautiful holiday wherever you are and that you maybe got a chance to peek in on us here.
Love ya - me

My deepest sympathy to Kathy and your family. I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with
Gary a couple of times when we were without a controller over the past few years. I’ve learned a lot
from him, he was a kind and patient man and always willing to listen. We will all miss him a immensely at the Milwaukee Plant.

I have known Gary since he was a little kid, he is/was my cousin. His parents Laurie and Kay where two of the best people I knew back in my early childhood. It is very easy to understand why he was cared for so much by others.

Gary will be missed, I worked with him at the Chicago Plant, he always made it a point to walk thru the plant and say goodnight to us before he left for the night.I will never forget when he told us the plant was closing, he came by my press and said "What are you going to do when you grow up" I was 34 at the time. We had some fun and worked hard. Gary I love you, I would not be were I'm at if it wasn't for you. you will be missed.

My deepest sympathy to all of Gary's family. Although I worked at a sister plant, I always counted it a privilege each time that Gary and I would meet. Over the 15 years, Gary always displayed the qualities of a true gentleman in his business and social conduct. He was always ready with a "hearty handshake" and a "how are you". Gary will be deeply missed by so many.

I had the opportunity to work with Gary very closely after our controller moved to a new facility. In those months working with him I was able to learn more than all of the rest of my time in Milwaukee. I am extremely grateful for the time he gave me and the confidence in me he showed. I as well as many others are a better person because of Gary.

To Kathy and the family of Gary, please accept my heart-felt sympathies. It's hard to put into words what a great person Gary was, and what a privilege it was to know him. He not only taught us a lot professionally, but a lot about life and how to treat people. Gary loved people and treated everyone like family. That's probably why we lightheartedly called him "Dad", although under the circumstances, I can now see it wasn't too far from the truth. I will forever be inspired by Gary and I will truly miss him.

Kathy --
This e-mail note came from my friend Rick Waibel; we met you and Gary for drinks and went to King Henry's in Florida nearly 12 years ago.

Please convey my sympathies to Kath and the family. I only got to meet him that one time, but he seemed like a great person to know and be around.

Kathy, my condolences for your great loss. It was a pleasure and a challenge to have worked with Gary these past few months. I want you to know that he touched many people in the Danville Plant in a very positive way. Gary helped me grow in my position with Dana. He didn't want this assignment and he could have just passed the time while he was here. However he took it upon himself to make changes in Danville and cared enough to do so. For that, I am forever grateful to him, and to you for agreeing to take the assignment. We will miss his wit and charm. My only regret is that Gary had to spend the last days of his life away from the people he cared about the most. Thank you for your sacrifice!
Sincerely, Greg

It was with great sadness that I received the news of Gary's passing last Monday and I am very sorry I was not able to attend last week's services. Throughout the week I reminisced with my current colleagues about Gary and told many stories of our times together. I always associate two words with Gary: genuine and integrity. He was a man who always celebrated the human flame in everyone he encountered. My thoughts and prayers remain with you, Kathy, and with Gary's entire family.

I worked at the Milwaukee plant my first two years out of college and I was so lucky to have worked with such wonderful people and Gary was at the top of that list. He was just fun to be around. He had the greatest laugh! And he was kinda like a dad to me....always checking in making sure I was staying out of trouble, getting me involved in new things at the plant. Gary was a wonderful person and he will be truly missed. I am so sorry for your loss. Our deepest sympathy goes out to your family.

Kathy:
Although you and I never met, we may have more in common than most. It was my honor to meet Gary while he was "holding down the fort"...for my Rusty, while he battled cancer and his anticipated return to work. They both wanted that very much. The day Gary died, was the day that I had gone by Rusty's old office in Danville and realized I could not remove Rusty's things myself. Gary assured me along with Mike Trammell's help that they would take care of it for me. He was very supportive of my grief and wished me well and gave me a hug. He looked better than I had ever seen him. Guess it was Friday and he thought he was coming home to you. Dana has lost two of their best Managers and we lost our best friends and husbands. You are in my prayers. Our loss is heavens gain. God Bless you at this time.
Love, Nancy Moore

My Uncle Gary was a man who touched everyone he met. He had a big smile, a deep laugh, and a heart of gold. His passing has left a hole in our lives that can't be filled. Our family thanks all of you who's kind words have made this time a little easier. We know he was a man who's family did not just include us but also all of you who worked with him. In that we all share this grief. Please know that our hearts go out to all of you who are feeling this great loss also.
We will miss you!

~NO TEARS PAST THE GATE~
Someone new has entered
our eternal home above.
The heavenly gate has opened wide
to welcome the one you love.
We cannot help the tears that fall
our hearts need time to grieve.
When earthly life has ended
and a loved one has to leave.
Yet, even in the saddest time,
we know our Savior lives.
We can trust completely
in the promise that He gives.
In a glad reunion with the Lord,
our loved one's wait.
To welcome us in joy, with no more
tears...beyond the gates.

Gary was a good friend and a great plant manager. His loss will not only be felt by his family but also people across our whole company. I had just spoken with him on the day he passed and he was joking around and looking forward to going home for the weekend. I know he loved the people in Milwaukee and in Danville and the feeling was mutual. We have the hope of being reunited with Gary and others we miss when we celebrate and claim the victory that has been won for us through Christ's sacrifice.

Gary will be missed by many. He was a good man with a good heart towards everyone. I worked with Gary for many years at the Dana plant in Chicago before transferring to Danville, KY and then Columbia, SC. I acquired many of my professional traits from him, as he was a good leader. My deepest and sincerest sympathies. Gary has personally touched and influenced my life in too many ways to count, but all of which I will never forget. I worked for him several years ago and we remained dear friends ever since. He was always someone I could look to for encouragement, advice, a good laugh, a shoulder to cry on, or a kick in the pants. I loved him like a father and will miss him incredibly. My deepest regrets to Kathy and the rest of the family -- he loved all of you so much and always had a story to share with me about the kids or to describe a new musical piece Kathy came to love while working at the store. I am so sorry for your loss.
