I was notified on Gary's passing by the person who introduced me to him, Dave Scherbarth of Highland Lanes. We became instant friend while bowling on each other's team. When I started talking baseball with him, the years of baseball recollection and knowledge just came pouring out. When we was done, I stepped back and thought to myself, "I don't know anything about this game compared to my new fried Roseee. A true friend who enjoyed helping others obtain their dreams. I told him I wanted to do an online sports fantasy business. He was with me every step of the way. Introduced me to all the heavy hitters in the area. Gary seemed to know everybody. Once I was licensed, I dove right in designing the site that would host my new venture which is called ToughFantasySports.com. I kept asking him how much I owed him for all his help and he refused to accept any money until it was finished. Some failing health of my own have delayed the project for over 3 years now and recently, Gary offered to take it over. To be fair, I felt he put more effort into getting it off the ground that I could due to health-related issues I had to tend to. With his loss, I owe it (emotionally) to move forward on the project with the spirit that he'll be right next to me every step of the way. Once its completed, I envision a nation-wide baseball competition that will be named, "The Gary Rosenberg baseball fantasy challenge". I was unable to attend his services as I was out on the East Coast at the time where I wanted to meet his wife and children so I could tell them how much Gary meant to me, Dave, and other people who's lives he touched is such a positive way. Gary was all about fun. His face would light up with every new idea that popped into his head. His famous quote was, "Isn't that great", when speaking of another great opportunity he was working on. A selfless individual. He was everybody else's cheerleader in life and never refused to help others if he could. Selfishly for me, I'll miss him everyday and I'm looking forward to completing the project he helped me get started a few years back. My warmest condolences to his wife, daughter, and soon, and especially his granddaughter. The last time I saw Roseee this year, he flipped off his shoes and his toe nails were painted either yellow or pink. I was totally confused by it but then he told me he took his granddaughter for a manicure/pedicure and did it with her. Anytime he spoke of his family and his granddaughter, his eyes would pop wide open and began to smile from ear to ear. Gary's spirit will live on forever. It's been almost a month and the guys who played rotisserie baseball with him (I mean guys that live in Arizona and California), would fly up every spring to be in these baseball auction leagues, which, I believe began in 1980. I spoke to Tony from Arizona and he is still having trouble coping with losing one of his best friends. We all are.

Gary was one-of-a-kind! Our paths crossed a number of times over the past 20 years in the Milwaukee ad community. Gary was the 'idea-guy' and always had something new to share. I remember one time years ago he invited to his office - I was a newer AE at FOX 6 at the time - and offered me one of his open desks so I could make calls and work remotely. Those were the days when stations kicked their sales people out of the office to 'go make calls'. Gary got it - he understood the media sales game.
So sorry for your loss. He will be missed.
