Beloved husband for over 58 years of the love of his life, Martha "Martie" (nee Cherry). Dear father of Cherry (Steve Way) Watts, Jennifer (Frank) Block, J.D. Watts, Mark Watts and Abigail (Colin) Grissom. Proud grandfather of Scott (Emiko) Way, Brad Way, Adrienne Way, Daniel Block, Jessica Block, Catherine (Ted) Knight, Samuel Watts, Anne Watts, Alex Watts, Mirako Watts, George Watts, Hilary Wright, Grady Grissom and Elena Grissom. Great-grandfather of Keach Way. Dearest brother of Lora Watts Otjen. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Friends may greet the family from 3-5:30 PM on Monday, March 21, 2005 at THE WOMAN'S CLUB OF WISCONSIN, 813 East Kilbourn Avenue, Milwaukee with a Memorial Service at 4:30 PM. Memorials to the George and Martha Watts Foundation for Freedom and Common Sense; 1200 Minnesota Avenue; South Milwaukee, WI 53172 or the charity of your choice would be deeply appreciated in lieu of flowers.

George was the third generation owner of George Watts and Son Inc. in Milwaukee, a purveyor of fine china, crystal, silver and extraordinary gifts. He was a renaissance man, raising bees for 70 years, farmed raising cattle, pigs, chickens and other assorted animals, loving the land and always having a garden. He proudly served his country in the US Marines during WW II.

A man of deep convictions and integrity, George participated in his world with enthusiasm and thoughtfulness. His convictions led him to politics as a way of righting wrongs and changing policy. Deeply committed to the life of Milwaukee, George devoted much of his life to public service and political endeavor.

Dear Watts family. I am so sorry to hear of Georges passing. He was a man who achieved many goals, and had a loving family. I only met George a couple times. George was my mothers (Nancy Slade) first cousin.
