Gerald Lemke Obituary

Lemke, Gerald S. "Jerry" Born into Eternal Life May 31, 2013, at the age of 65 after a second courageous battle with cancer. Dearest "brother"-in-law of Elaine Lemke. Cherished uncle of Lance Lemke, Terri ( Joe) Kau, and Trina Steffen. Also survived by many dear relatives and loyal friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Mabel, his brother Bill, and his sister Barbara. Jerry was born July 15, 1947. Graduated in 1965 from Milwaukee Lutheran High School. Proud 1969 graduate of Marquette University (Go Marquette!... Warriors!) and was a member of the Marquette Army ROTC. Served active duty as a Lieutenant in South Korea. After the military Jerry joined the family business, Lemke's restaurant. He could usually be found working in the kitchen and talking Marquette and Packers sports. With a love of music, Jerry brought smiles to many as he sang and strummed on his guitar at the sing-a-longs held at Lemke's. He also had a passion for fishing and looked forward to spending time on the boat in the northwoods with his buddy Terry. Jerry's sense of humor, wise advice, and warm and caring heart will be deeply missed. We find comfort in knowing that he has joined his dad and brother on the fishing boat in the Heavenly waters where muskies are plentiful. Visitation Wednesday, June 5 from 4 to 6:45 PM at the Funeral Home with a Service at 7PM. Private Interment at Wisconsin Memorial Park. The family of Jerry extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at the Froedtert Cancer Center, Heritage Square, and Zilber Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Zilber Hospice appreciated.
