I had the honor of working with Jerry at Pius for 12 years. There was never a time he did not care about kids. Any time we asked for help with a student, Jerry would say " No problem" we will take care of it. He always had a smile and a story.
To the Pintar family and the Pius family, May the Lord bless and keep you: May He show His face to your and have mercy on you: May He look upon you with kindness and grant you His peace.

I was lucky enough to have had the privilege of playing four years of tennis (1985-88) for Coach Pintar. Learned a lot about the game, but more importantly, he helped me mature and taught life lessons that still resonate with me to this day. After graduating from Pius, I had not seen him in almost 25 years until I was fortunate enough to run into Coach and Mrs. Pintar at McGinn's in August 2013. We shared a few laughs and a shuttle down to the Brewers game. I had the waitress take a photo of us which I have saved. I am glad I had an opportunity to see him one final time. My sincere sympathies and condolences to Dianne, his sons (former teammates) Jeff, Mike and Brian, as well as all of Coach's family and friends. Brian Dooley (Class of 1988)

Jerry and Dianne were my Friday night customers at Mcginns. I looked forward to seeing them every week. Jerry was probably the sweetest man I've ever met. His voice and manner were so gentle and sincere. It was always a pleasure talking to him. He will be greatly missed.

Dear Diane, Jeffery, Michael, Brian & family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you upon hearing of the passing of Jerry. Jerry was always kind and gracious to me during my tenure at Pius and like others, I appreciated his humor and smile.
I know he has been struggling with cancer for a number of years and when I last saw him with coaches at a restaurant, he seemed to be dealing with his situation with grace.
It is our faith that summons us to believe that Jerry's "life is simply changed not ended." May that aspect of our faith strengthen you at this time. I hold you in prayer.
In the Risen Christ,
Fr. Marv Knighton

It seems only yesterday that Jerry & I were being challenged by McGarret to be our best on the track team. My family and I want to send our deepest sympathy for the loss of a very good man and dear friend while setting records @ Pius XI in the 60's. May he be with the Lord and hopefully praying for us to join him when out days are done here.

Aunt Dianne and cousins Jeff, Mike and Brian I am so sorry for your loss and mine as well, I will always remember only sitting on Uncle Jerry's lap as a child and a fond memory I have is how after tennis lessons at Washington Park Jerry would run to our house and ask me to make him a sandwich, one day he opened the trunk of his car and gave me a tennis racket for all my sandwiches I made him!! He will be missed.

I remember Mr. Pintar passionate about literature. He introduced me to authors I probably never would have read on my own; I am ever grateful. Class of 1972.
Eternal rest grant onto him O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him.

Jerry Pintar was a tremendous influence in my life...lessons learned on the football field often transcended to life applications. God has a place for such people. Thank you Jerry for your guidance in my formative years.

Always thought of Mr. Pintar as one of the best I had in high school for teachers. Had an easy going soft side I respected. He will be greatly missed in the Pius circles.

There are no words that can be expressed of our sorrow & sadness at this time. Jerry was such a major part of our lives & our children's lives for so many years. He brought such happiness & joy that nobody will ever be able to replace it. He had such courage through his illness, which showed the quality of life he possessed. Jerry you will be so missed, but God will embrace you as will our love forever.
Love you, Gary & Sonja

Jerry was my first teacher at Pius. He taught a summer study program I attended before I started Freshman year-1966! His English classes were fun, especially as his stories about college life were often intermingled. He could be a buddy, big brother, coach and teacher. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. He will be fondly remembered.-Randy Welniak '70

While noted for his coaching and joie de vivre, Uncle Jerry was also impressively literate. Grounded in a passion for narrative and a penchant for the play of language, this literacy was a constant joy to me and the stuff of our special bond. He was a man of reliable insight and humanistic sensitivity whose memory may best be tended through the sustaining activity of his lifetime: the reading and discussion of good books. May the Good Lord embrace and keep you! Requiescat in pace et in amore. Dr. Jeff Zalar
