Gloria Beyer Obituary

Beyer, Gloria "Gogi" (Nee Voss) Died peacefully at Zilber Hospice on Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at the age of 74 years. Beloved wife of Lawrence, commonly referred to as "Larry". Loving mother of Julie (John) Schuller and Dan (Heather) Beyer. Proud "Nana" of Danny and Katie Schuller, and Owen and Wil Beyer. Gogi graduated from Cathedral High School in 1954 and from Marquette University in 1958 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education. She was an active member of St. Jude the Apostle Parish for over 40 years. She had numerous talents and interests, including travel, clock repair, owning and operating an independent china business, researching her family genealogy, and remodeling a home for resale. In 1958, she directed the Varsity Varieties at Marquette University. She was a founding member of the St. Jude Players, later called the Glenview Players, directing or acting in over 15 plays. She sang for many years in the St. Jude Choir, and directed the Hart Park Senior Chorus. Gogi held a never-ending hope for a cure for juvenile diabetes. For two years, she created and produced a charity calendar to raise funds for diabetes research. She received several awards for her work on fundraising for a cure for diabetes. We're so sorry to hear of the loss of our dear, Aunt Gogi. Our love and prayers are with you. Praying for the Lord to bring you comfort & peace in this time of sorrow. "For I will turn their mourning to joy, Will comfort them, And make them rejoice rather than sorrow." Jeremiah 31:13

Dear Larry, Julie, Dan & family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you as you deal with the passing of your wife/mother and grandmother. Gogi is truly a great lady with her dedication to your family and to the community. She is now at peace amid her suffering over the years. It is our faith that summons us to believe that Gogi's "life is simply changed not ended." I hope that aspect of our faith strengthens you during this time. I hold you in prayer.
