Gordon Hinkley Obituary

Hinkley, Gordon L. Passed away on December 23, 2013, at the Village at Manor Park in West Allis. Mr. Hinkley was born in Port Edwards, WI in 1925, and was proud of his small-town roots, even as he became one of the most recognizable personalities in Milwaukee radio and television. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe before starting a family in Wausau, Wisconsin. A devoted family man, he is survived by his wife Joyce; three children, Jeffrey, Lynn, and Lisl; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Private burial took place on December 27. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Salvation Army.

I remember Gordon as being the most kind and interesting person I ever had the privilege of knowing. Gordon was always smiling, willing to help others and just naturally enjoyed life and the people around him. RIP Gordon you were a true inspiration for those who knew you.

Of course you were a great radio personality, but what I'll always remember is your piano playing, which I heard many times at Luther Manor. RIP.

The consummate professional, family man, and an even better person. What a huge loss for this town.

I woke up to Mr. Hinkley for most of my young adult life in Milwaukee. He was a classic, a charmer and a never to be forgotten. He will be commemorated in the Divine Liturgy

I will always remember Mr. Hinkley for the simile he always had on his face. I remember when he would play the piano when there was one available. Please accept my sympathy for your loss.
