Harold Ray Cummings

Cummings, Harold Ray Of Waukesha, WI and Naples, FL, died on Tues., March 15, 2011, at the age of 92 years. Harold was born in Iowa City, Iowa on July 4, 1918 the son, of Ray and Marie Cummings. He married the love of his life, Martha Felter from Van Meter, Iowa, on Dec. 27, 1942. Harold was a longtime member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Waukesha. He worked for the General Electric Company from May 1942 to August 1981. Harold was awarded 8 patents throughout his years as an Engineer and Manager for GE including the CT Scanner Detector, Rotating X-Ray Tube Structure and other x-ray tube improvements. He was also a senior member of the GE Elfun Society. Harold was a member of the Masons-Waukesha Lodge #37, Tripoli Drum and Bugle Corp and the Scottish Rite. His passion for outdoor activities started as a boy. He enjoyed deer hunting, golfing, hiking the "Rocky Mountains," fishing, and camping, into his eighties. Harold also enjoyed square dancing and playing bridge. He was an avid gardener who took great joy in planting and caring for his cherry and walnut trees. Harold will be missed by his loving wife, 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. The funeral service for Harold will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at 10:30 AM, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll St., Waukesha, WI 53186. The Rev. Gary Liedtke will be officiating. The visitation will be held on Mon., March 21, from 4PM until the time of the 6:30PM Masonic service at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home (see address below). A second visitation will be held Tues., March 22, from 9:30AM until the time of the 10:30AM service at St. Luke's Lutheran Church (see address above). Burial will immediately follow the service at Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Harold's name are appreciated to the Waukesha County Legacy Forest, 515 W.
