I have many fond memories of Uncle Harry! When I was very young, my brother Adam and I visited Harry & Jackie in Milwaukee, and we went to the Schlitz 4th of July parade with the amazing Clydesdale horses. Later as a young adult in the very early 80's, Harry and Jackie came to San Francisco and we spent a good long day together; we visited the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park. I recall Jackie was an avid photographer, and she took pictures of us amongst the blooming cherry trees. I enjoyed reading his book about his life as a journalist very much - Harry was so cool, bow tie and all, huge smile always, gigantic big heart full of love for us all - I will miss him very much and pray that he rests in peace in Heaven.

Loved my Uncle Harry. We shared an appreciation for good literature and whenever we spoke it was about what have you read lately that was good - he always had recommendations for me - and they were good. I see Harry in his dapper bow tie. Harry and Jackie were dashing and daring - like a Bonnie and Clyde on the good side of the law. I will miss Harry.

Thinking of and seeing my uncle Harry always brought a smile to my face. He was very special to me as was my aunt Jackie Sonneborn. My family thoroughly enjoyed reading his books and had many a laugh at his sense of humor. We will miss him dearly and love his daughters very much.

Three great memories:As a kid in the 1950's, I lived a block away from the Sonneborn house...a wonderful modern house. One of the few in Elm Grove at the time. I remember visiting "Manana Motors", his garage for working on his old Sunbeam. He helped me rebuild a distributor for my 52 MG. Last, but not least, when I was hanging out at his place in OGDEN ROW,he would return home after the Sentinel was put to bed, around 11:30 at night. I would join him in the kitchen, both of us drinking Jim Beam and water, and he would tell me stories about the newspaper business. The Journal/Sentinel could use a man of his integrity.

A fine man personally liked and professionally respected by all, certainly by me. A lover of good jazz, and an occasional drop of good whiskey. Someone I'm proud to have known many years ago.
