Henry Rotering Obituary

Rotering, Henry William "Hank" Age 81. Born and raised in Schoepp's Valley, Buffalo County, and a current resident of Buffalo City who also resided in Milwaukee for around forty years, passed away on Monday, August 2, 2010, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, in La Crosse. He was born of June 23, 1929, a son of the late Henry and Lena (Muenich) Rotering. Henry then honorably served his country as a member of the United States Air Force from 1947 until his honorable discharge 1968. For most of his military career he served as an Air Force Recruiter. On March 30, 1957 Henry was united in marriage to Arlene Christine Christianson in Milwaukee. Together they raised one son. Following his career in the Air Force, Henry was employed for American Automobile Association (AAA) in Milwaukee for 18 years, retiring around 1986. In 1993, Henry and his wife relocated to Buffalo City, where they have resided ever since. Henry will be dearly and sadly missed by his wife of the past 53 years, Arlene of Buffalo City; his son, Terry (Theresa) Rotering of Yorktown, VA; two grandsons, Tanner and Thomas Rotering, both of Yorktown, PA; also by numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, other family and friends. Besides his parents, three brothers, Gaylord, Norman and Melvin and two sisters, Mildred Lorenz and Laura Auer preceded Henry in death. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 6, at 2:00 PM, at Dr. Martin Luther Church, Buffalo City, with Pastor Mark Wilde officiating. Burial will be on Monday, August 9, at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove, WI. A time of visitation and support will be held on Thursday, August 5, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, at the Talbot Family Funeral & Cremation Services, Cochrane Chapel, and again on Friday, one hour prior to the services at the church.
