Jack Kirby Obituary

Kirby, Jack "F.J." Of Waukesha, died on Wednesday, August 13, 2008, at the age of 87 years. Jack was born on January 8, 1921, the son of Frank and Marie Kirby. He was united in marriage to Norma Hutchison on September 5, 1946. Jack proudly served his country as a 1st lieutenant in WWII. He was known as an avid woodworker who made 392 music stands. He also enjoyed tending to his 33 rosebushes. Jack greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and his four legged friends. Jack will be deeply missed by the love of his life, his wife, Norma; sons, Jack (Sandy) Kirby of South Milwaukee, Bill (Jo) Kirby of Wauwatosa, and Dick (Lori) Kirby of Redondo Beach, CA; daughters, Roberta Kirby of Madison and Barbara Kirby of Dublin, Ireland; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; brother, William Kirby of Cleveland, OH and sister, Rosemary Kopp of Brecksville, OH. Jack is further survived by other relatives and friends. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Eugene and sisters, Eleanor Kirby and Marge Haas. A funeral mass for Jack will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2008, at 11:00 AM, at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. Reverend Jason Lavann will be officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of the 11:00 AM funeral mass. Burial will immediately follow the mass at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Waukesha. Donations to the family are appreciated to be donated to the charity of their choice at a later date. Jack's family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at LindenGrove Waukesha and Allay Hospice for the special care they gave Jack during his stay.
