Jacqueline Buggy Obituary

Buggy, Jacqueline "Jackie" (Nee Boudreau) Of Wauwatosa and Brookfield; winter resident of Savannah, GA died peacefully on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at age 89. She was born November 17, 1928 in Kankakee, IL, daughter of Sergius and Susan Boudreau. Jackie was a 1950 graduate of the Marquette University College of Nursing. During her nursing training at St. Joseph's Hospital in Milwaukee she caught the eye of a handsome Obstetrics and Gynecology resident, William "Bill" Buggy, MD. He, in turn, captured her attention by giving her tips on handing surgical instruments and suture materials to a left-handed surgeon. And so began the story of their lives together. She was the devoted wife of Bill for over 67 years; beloved mother of Brian (Ellen) Buggy, Mequon, WI; Mark Buggy, Tucson, AZ; Kevin (Peggy) Buggy, Reno, NV; Steven Buggy, Phoenix, AZ; Jon (Cathy) Buggy, Minnetonka, MN; JoAnn (Tom) Berk, Grafton, WI; Amy (Jim) Rex, Greenville, SC; Timothy (Kathy) Buggy, New Hope, MN. Grandmother of Christopher and Michael Buggy; Lindsay and Erin Buggy; Emily, Laura and Patrick Buggy; Kevin, Ryan, Kelley and Daniel Berk; Jessica, James and Jared Rex; Declan Buggy. Great-grandmother of Cameron and Ella Schulze. Jackie is further survived by her brother Sergius Boudreau, Lincoln, NE; sisters Celeste Brunelle, Miami, FL and Carol Dedinsky, San Jose, CA; many other relatives and friends. Jackie was a terrific cook who loved to read. She was accomplished at quilting, tennis and bridge. She helped launch the St. Jude Parish Thrift Store and contributed countless hours sorting donations. She was always a woman who put the needs of others first and could come up with a joke when it was most needed. Patient, insightful, kind, strong and gracious. Most importantly, she knew to the depth of her soul why she was on this earth: to be the one who loved and cared for her husband and children above all else. And who was loved by them, unconditionally and always, in return. Sincere gratitude to Dianne Zwicke MD and the staff of St. Luke's Medical Center Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic. Their efforts kept her with us for three years longer than God may have first planned. A visitation for Jackie will be held on Thursday, March 15th from 5-7 PM at The Becker Ritter Funeral Home, 14075 W North Avenue Brookfield, WI. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 16th at 11:00 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Parish, 800 Glenview Avenue, Wauwatosa, WI. Entombment will immediately follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorials in Jackie's name to St. Jude the Apostle Grade School or San Camillo Foundation.

It's hard to believe that a year has passed since Jackie left her friends for a more rewarding place in heaven. But our remembrances remain.

Dr. Buggy my sincerest condolences on the loss of your wife Jackie. Living so far away, I don't always here about my dear friends back in Wauwatosa. I received the St. Jude newsletter and saw Jackie's name. I am so very sorry for your loss. She was always a lady with class. What a beautiful family you all have. My sympathies to you and your entire family.

To Jon and all his family - I am so sorry to hear this news. Your Mom was the best Den Mother a group of rambunctious nine year old Cub Scouts could ever have ! I remember her fondly as welcoming, kind, very pretty and always had the best snacks ! My thoughts and prayers are with you and all the Buggy's. God bless.

Bill and family -
I was fortunate to have met Bill and Jackie in 2002 and they welcomed me into their circle of friends. There was always a smile, a hug, a funny joke and every year a birthday card! Jackie was a wonderful friend and she will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Bill Buggy and the Buggy family:

Our condolences. We always enjoyed sharing conversation with you and Jackie whenever the opportunity occurred. She was delightful, as were all the Buggys..and certainly will be missed. But what's really important is...that she will long be remembered.
