James Hauer Obituary

Hauer, James Albert Age 88, formerly of Elm Grove, WI, passed away peacefully in Sun City, AZ on June 22, 2012. Jim was 1 of 7 children born to the late Albert and Hazel (Corcoran) Hauer in Fond Du Lac, WI on April 3, 1924. He received Engineering and Law degrees from Marquette University. He was also a graduate of the University Of Wisconsin School Of Banking. He lived in Elm Grove before retiring to Sun City with his beloved wife, the late Patricia Hauer, who passed away in 1996. He is survived by 5 loving sons: Stephen (Susan), Paul, Chris (Terry), John (Connie) and Patrick (Ruth). Cherished grandfather of: Oriana, Devin, Christian, Brandon, Kerry, Michael, Alex, Evan and Caleb. Also, survived by his second wife, Mila Gregor, of Sun City. During his professional career, Jim was patent counsel with Ira Milton Jones in Milwaukee (1949), Chief Counsel with Wauwatosa Realty (1950-1957), Vice President of Wauwatosa State Bank (1957-1967), and President of Milwaukee Western Bank (1967-1969). He maintained a private law practice, specializing in patent law, real estate and bank law until retiring in 1986. Jim served with distinction in the US Marine Corps during World War II (Peleliu) and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a passionate volunteer and lived his life in service to others. He lectored for St. Mary`s Visitation Parish, Elm Grove and Mother of Seton Catholic Churches, Sun City, served the Kiwanis in Milwaukee, and was President of Meals on Wheels and Sunshine Services in Sun City. A Memorial service will be held on July 3 at 11:30 AM at St. Clements of Rome Parish, Sun City, AZ. In addition, services will be held on Saturday, August 4 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 12130 W. Center Street, Wauwatosa, WI. Visitation with the family will begin at 9:30 AM until time of services. Memorials to the School Sisters of Notre Dame, 13105 Watertown Plank Rd, Elm Grove, WI 53122 appreciated.
