James Albert "Jamesal" Taylor

James Taylor Obituary

Taylor, James Albert "Jamesal" Of Mequon. November 21, 1919 - October 30, 2007. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jamesal Taylor, a generous, kind gentleman. He left this world at home in the presence of his cherished wife Linda. He is survived by his beloved children James Albert (Theresa), John William and Barbara Elizabeth (John), and two grandchildren James Albert, V and Alexandra Jane. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 48 years Jane Carolyn. His generous spirit is also remembered by relatives and many friends, who came from all walks of life, were young and old and lived in countries around the world. He thoroughly enjoyed sharing with them good stories, fantastic travel experiences, interesting books and great wine. Jamesal was born in Madison, Wisconsin, where he showed an early curiosity in learning in a wide range of interests. He attended West High School and the University of Wisconsin, earning a degree in Civil Engineering. His summers were filled with travels throughout America and pre-war Europe. The friends that he made, the experiences he had and the photographs that he took during these years remained with him throughout his life. James served as a flight instructor in the US Naval Reserve during WWII. After his service, he returned to Milwaukee to join Taylor Electric Company with his father and later became its President. James was an active member of the community giving countless hours of his time to wonderful organizations such as The Boys & Girls Club, The Wisconsin Council on Economic Education (EconomicsWisconsin), The Better Business Bureau, The Citizens Research Bureau and The Greater Milwaukee Committee. James was a founding member of the Milwaukee Chapitre of the Confrerie des Chevaliers du Tastevin. He strove to continue the tradition of charitable contributions through establishment of the James A. Taylor Family Foundation. Private Memorial Services were held Saturday, November 3 at the Funeral Home. Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery in Grafton. Memorials in James A. Taylor's name may be directed to the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts and Fiber Arts, PO Box 562, Cedarburg, WI 53012 or to EconomicsWisconsin, 7635 W. Bluemound Rd. Suite 106, Milwaukee, WI 53213. Dar Jim, John & Betsy,
I was very saddened to learn of your Dad's death. I just spoke with him a couple of months ago and while he sounded weak...his spirit was strong.

I enjoyed working with him on his travel plans beginning in 1991...and will miss his smiling voice!

Dear Jim, John, and Betsy,
Please accept our sincere condolence upon the loss of your father. We had a great visit with your dad and Linda last May, shortly before their trip out West. We have many fond memories of wonderful times spent together with Jim and Natalie in Provence. Your dad was a generous man who connected easily with people. He will be very much missed.

DEAR LINDA:
AGAIN, MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY ON YOUR LOSS. THERE ARE MANY WONDERFUL THINGS THAT CAN BE SAID ABOUT JIM - AND THEY WOULD ALL BE TRUE.

HOWEVER, I WILL SUMMARIZE IT IN ONE EASY STATEMENT - " HE WAS ONE GOOD TROOP"

SINCERELY,
