Jan Baum Obituary

Baum, Jan Michelle Age 61, passed away suddenly on May 23, 2011, in Jensen Beach, FL. She lived in Milwaukee from 1975 to 2000 and worked at the Children Service Society of Wisconsin. She served as president of the Milwaukee Ballet Friends, on the board of the Volunteer Center of Greater Milwaukee, as a member of the Junior League of Milwaukee and a number of other community organizations. She was predeceased by her father Dr. Werner Baum, Chancellor Emeritus of UWM. Survivors include her mother Shirley Baum, her sister Sandy Baum (Michael McPherson), nephews Ben Schwerin, Daniel Schwerin and Josh Schwerin, and niece Rachel Schwerin. Her funeral was held on Friday, June 3, in Chicago, IL. If desired, contributions may be made in her name to the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration, 1427 East 60th Street, Suite 120, Chicago, IL 60637, or online at http://alumniandfriends.uchicago.edu/makeagift.
