Jason Raasch Obituary

Raasch, Jason H. Age 40, of Lecanto, FL, passed away May 17, 2013. A native of Milwaukee, he moved to Florida in 2004. Jason was celebrated as a creative landscaper, skilled mason, and custom designer. He was most recently employed at Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park. Jason was a Christian and loved his family and friends, nature, all living creatures, and expressing his talents in art and photography. Our beloved Jason was pure sunshine. His beautiful smile, twinkling blue eyes, and warm greetings lit up every room he entered. The world has lost a gentle and kind soul with a huge heart whose major purpose was to help everyone. He is survived by his parents, William and Eunice Raasch, of Beverly Hills, Florida; his brother Christopher of Durango, Colorado; his aunt Bunny Raasch-Hooten; and his nephew Joshua Hooten. Services were held. Gifts in honor of Jason may be sent to the Friends of Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park and would be greatly appreciated. People who have the compassion for others like Jason did are rare indeed. Even rarer are those with it who are men. I wish my children would've met you before you were gone so that you could live on in their hearts as you do in mine. Friends like you are far and few between. You will be missed.

Dear Bill, Eunice and everyone...I only just found out tonight. I am shocked and so sad. I just told Jason almost 2 years ago how I will always love him. I am so happy he knew that and how special he was to me. I have such fond memories with all of you for the 4 years I was dating him during my college years. All of you will always be a part of my heart and soul. Always. With love forever, Gina

Eunice, Bill, Chris, Bunny and Joshua:

It saddens my heart to hear that Jason is not with us anymore. God will take good care of him and we will all meet again. Peace be with you Jason.

It was such a shock when Todd called me up North on Monday. So suddenly he was taken from you. So young and a full life to live. Their are so many memories of Jason and my son Todd (as they grew up) and our Families on 68th Street. Memories I will never forget.

You are great Friends that I cherish forever. You know I love you all and miss you so very much.

I am so saddened for your loss and my thoughts and prayers are with you always.

What beautiful words sent from all the lives he has touched. Please call me when you can 414-771-4621.

Dear Bill & Eunice & Christopher - I am so very sorry for your loss. I will never forget trick-or-treating with Jason and watching Saturday Night Live snuggled in sleeping bags on the floor in Christopher's room, us 4 kids...cookouts and parties, singing along with Bill on guitar, good memories. It was a pleasure knowing you the short time we worked together at the park. I appreceiate your help when you came to my home to fix a shower problem. I had high hopes for your career with the Florida Park Service, I felt you were a person of high quality with the "right package" for ranger service to the world and local visitor service. You will be missed, Jason - by everyone. My thoughts today are for your family, bless you all.
