Our sympathy to all of Jerry's family. We will always remember his kindness, sincerity, sense of humor and willingness to serve along with his devotion to and love for Nora Lee. Jerry had that uncanny ability of making you feel as if you were the most important person in the world when he would greet you. That is a quality very few possess. His kind smile and the twinkle in his eye will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, our kind and gentle friend. You were indeed one of a kind, never to be forgotten. It was a sincere privilege and blessing to know you.

Family of Jerry:
We were sorry to read about the passing of your father and were unable to attend his funeral. We knew him for quite a few years and always enjoyed his company when we were at the same gatherings.

To the Engel Family,
We've just returned from the beautiful Memorial Mass for your Dad.
A concelebrated Mass, outstanding music, and heartfelt eulogies...and Jerry deserved all of it!
He was a very special person and will be greatly missed by many, many people as you can see by all the tributes listed here and all the people that came to the visitation.
Surely he's happy to be reunited with your Mom...he missed her a lot.

My condolences to you and your family. I'm sorry I can't be there on Thursday. I to, have memories of your Dad, sitting in the driveway when you and I would ride our bikes up or sitting in the family room watching TV. My prayers are with you.

Dear Gramps,
I'll miss having you come to dinner with a huge apple pie. It always put a smile on my face. I know that it was your time to be with grandma and I'll miss you. And don't worry I'll keep playing When the saints go marching in even if your not right next to me listening. You are in my thoughts and prayers. And say hi to grams for me.
Love,
Becky

We love Jerry. I do not know how our church community will survive without him. All the people he regularly helped will be poorer from this day on. It was a privilege to know and work with him.

All my love to "Uncle Jack's" family in this time of loss for us, but peace for him. Uncle Jack gave my son a great tour of the fire station when he was little and helped me with my husband's 50th birthday party, I loved him and "Auntie Nora Lee" - they were always so great to my mom.
My love and prayers are with all of you who mourn him, he was a great man. with love ~ Mary Terese

Dear Engels:
Our truly deepest sympathies to you for the passing on of "Uncle Jack." May he rest in peace.
Uncle Jack was always so active, had a great sense of humor, and cared about others.
A career as a firefighter was perfect for him. I was always impressed with his involvement in his community, church and at the VFW.
His visits to our Mom were a real highlight for her. She always mentioned with a smile that "Jack came to visit me today." (She also greatly enjoyed visits from Diane and Susie.)
You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Tom and Jane
