Joan had a love of life and was ready for anything. When Joan and my dear Aunt Mary visited in Bellingham a few summers ago, she joined us for a twisting drive up Mount Baker. She delighted as we pushed her wheelchair on the paths to find the best view and picnic spot. Her humor was ever-present, and she had so many stories of the places she had been and the people she had met. She seemed a sweet soul and such a great friend to Mary. We will miss you, Joan!

I consider Joan the Irish member of the Haberman family, from the time I met her when she helped my aunt Mary and me scour Gimbels for just the right rocking horse to give to my newly born triplet godchildren. I love Joan for her friendship to my beloved aunt, but also her friendship to me. Her wit, her intrepid spirit, her storytelling, her generosity, her good nature and joy of small pleasures stopping by Colectivo for a coffee, sitting by the fire pit at Whole Foods, gathering for a meal in her chair at Mary's place will stay with me always. I'm toasting her with a Packers glass, of course, right now.

I only knew Joan for a short time but thought of her as a friend. Her warmth, her love of life and her lovely smile inspired all of us that knew her. Joan is a bright angel smiling down upon us.

Love, and condolences to the family of cousin Joan Kelly. My memories of her in the kitchen gatherings at my family home on 32nd Street, are always filled with laughter and stories. So thankful to have those times.

My thoughts and prayers are for her and thanks to the team who supported her mentally and physically during her life. I worked with Joan at the Milwaukee Road Railroad for many years and she is my cousin.
