I was quite surprised this popped up today. I often think of you ladies and your families and hope all is well; the years seem to fly. Roger passed away March 2, 2017. I can imagine your Dad and Roger have met up somewhere along the way, happily comparing flea market finds. Take care,

So sorry to hear of John's passing. My condolences to the family. I knew John as a health educator. He was the health educator that brought the sex education introduction to many Milwaukee Public Schools. He brought that message to my class when I was in Junior High. I subsequently worked with him for more than 20 years at the Milwaukee Health Department. He was a character but always supported in my career.

I was privileged to know and be a friend of John for 70 years, since we were 1st graders together in Beloit. I did enjoy his wit and intelligence, and will miss talking with him on my infrequent visits to Wisconsin. RIP friend!

Margaret & Family -- We're sorry to hear of the passing of your father.
John was always a wonderful neighbor when he lived across the alley from my mom on Girard Av in Milwaukee.
Whenever we went to Elkhorn Market, we always enjoyed visiting with you & John. We weren't able to go to the latest Elkhorn in Sept. Did you know that John called Charlie a few weeks ago to ask how we were? That was so thoughtful!
My mom was saddened to hear of John's passing. He was a great neighbor & friend to all. We have lots of fond memories.
Hugs from Carol, Charlie & Helen

Margaret and family, we were very sorry to hear of John's passing. As his previous supervisor we got to share life in many fulfilling ways both at work and outside of work. He was a great and hard working Health Educator and friend who influenced many lives with his teaching and community service. Our prayers are with him and his family. In your prayers tell 'Big John' to be ready for the poker group when we all arrive.

very sad to read of John's passing away. I was a friend of John back in the 50's and 60's in Beloit. I was also a student of his mother Verna in South Beloit High School and she influenced me to go on to college after my tour of duty in the army. I knew his parents very well and attended John's graduation from Ripon Collge back in 1961 with them. We even took a trip out East. It is sad that I did not stay in touch with him even though we had a mutual friend John Byrne who kept me abreast of John's doings. I will say a prayer for my friend.

We were neighbors growing up with the Gruhlkes. My sisters used to hang out with Margaret. Mary Pat and Nancy and Katie. I remember taste testing Lois' homemade kidney beans and the high country bed they had. Good people with big hearts. My thought sand prayers to the family.

Dear Margaret, Catherine and Elizabeth and families,

We are so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I know he was very unhappy with the quality of life he was experiencing. He always enjoyed his "junkin'" weekends, on the lookout for THE bargain.
He and Roger shared an interest in the flea markets too. He sent me the most beautiful card with a very lovely handwritten sentiment after your Uncle Clarence died.
Take care and prayers of comfort for all of you,
Pat Schroder

John was a fellow member of the Beer Chapter of the Historical Truck Club and years ago gave our young children rides around the neighborhood in his old truck. We were former neighbors on Girard Ave. and enjoyed his "treasures". John was a good friend.

We will miss everything about John. He was the most loving caring person anyone could ask for in a friend, and he held a very special place in our hearts. His family meant the world to him, and our sincere sympathy goes out to all. The wonderful memories will get all of us through this difficult time. John will greatly be missed---but never forgotten.
