As did Jane, I too just heard of Jordie's passing. Yes he was a poker wiz and our family vet in addition to being a great friend of the family. My condolences even though a little late.

I'm shocked to have just found out about Jordan's death. He was a big part of my life growing up and I have wonderful memories of him. He will always have the credit for teaching me how to play poker! My condolences to his family.

Our sympathies to Jordan's family. Dr. Lewis' passing has left a void in our hearts. He was a wise and wonderful vet. We cannot sing his praise long enough or loud enough. He took such great care with our little boy and for that we were grateful. Spencer did not like anyone outside the family except Doc. Lewis. We are thankful we were able to know him and share jokes on our visits. He will forever have a place in our heart. May he rest in peace.

My sympathies to Jordan's family. What a wonderful man and vet. He's been our pets' vet for 40 years, yikes! From Ruffles and Ridges, the Dalmation girls, to our cats, to Domino our first Border, and up to present with our puppy Border, Breagh. We've had good times and sad times together, and he always was our smart guide and friend. We will miss him so.

My condolences to the Lewis family.
Dr. Lewis was a great vet and an even greater man.
This was such a shock to my family and I. He was the best Vet ever. Just a quick look and he always had the right diagnosis and cure. 3 different dogs with Dr. Sherman and all received the best care. Goodbye Doctor, enjoy your well deserved retirement.

Well if anyone enjoyed his job, it was a pleasure to know Doc Lewis. He was my vet for only 4 years but I enjoyed him and his love for animals.
he was always correct in his diagnosis and didn't charge for anything but what was needed. we will miss him very much.

My family's deepest sympathies! Dr. Lewis was my parents (John and Katye Rueth) vet for years. My Mom passed in 2005 and my Dad is now in a nursing home in Waukesha. I've taken their pets to Dr. Lewis many times and always enjoyed him. He was truly a friend and concerned for not only the pet but the pet owner. A true gift. We are sad and sorry for your loss. He was a blessing. – Jennifer Rueth

We were so sad to hear of Doc's passing. He had been our family vet for over 30 years. He was a caring man and Doctor, and we will miss our conversations about the weather, politics, etc. He always took the time to ask how everyone was doing, no matter how many legs they stood on! He will be overwhelmed at the Rainbow Bridge by all his loving patients. Rest in peace, Doc - you will be greatly missed.

I'm deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. Lewis. He was my grandmother's vet and also mine for the better part of 15 years. I remember asking Dr. Lewis several years ago why he didn't retire, and his answer was what would I do!!!! He was a great Dr. and a great man...

My deepest sympathy to the Lewis family. I was heartbroken to learn of Dr. Lewis's passing along with what should have only been the bittersweet announcement of his retirement. He was such a wonderful vet and person, always very helpful to me as a person and pet owner and also to my furbabies. He never failed to take the time to explain things until I completely understood and was able to make informed decisions on course of treatment, starting with what was only absolutely necessary. He helped me keep things realistic and in perspective so I could decide, guilt-free, how far to pursue treatment. Right up to his planned retirement, his professionalism and care for his patients was evident by the transferring of patient records to doctors he trusted with their care. I'd been going to Dr. Lewis for 34 years. He will be sorely missed. But there is no doubt in my mind he got a wonderful welcome from past patients who saw him coming over their bridge!

My eyes are full of tears as I write this. Dr. Lewis was a wonderful man, friend to all animals, and to those who cared for and loved them. He treated all family members with respect, regardless of how many legs they stood on. May God bless you Jordan Lewis. My deepest condolences to the family for your loss.

Dear Lewis family, it was with great sadness I received the letter regarding Dr. Lewis' death. Our family only started seeing Dr. Lewis about 2 years ago, but I told everyone I knew about him and his genuine love for the animals he cared for. I, for one, know of the love he gave our dog, Ginger, while only providing care or treatment that was absolutely necessary. I know that there will never be another like him, but I am sure that his is continuing to care for animals over the Rainbow Bridge.

Mrs. Lewis & Family,
Please know how much we, including our dogs Gabe & Grace are truly going to miss our sweet Dr. Lewis. Of all my years dealing with different vets, Dr. Lewis was the most caring and down to earth doctor I've ever met. We will miss him terribly. My thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

With love & treasured memories,

Such sadness to learn of Dr. Lewis' death the day before his retirement! I had returned to his practice with our second dog, wewe, just this fall, and am so sorry we won't get to meet again. He was a long-time caregiver of our first rescue dog, Freckles. I can just imagine the slurps he's received in heaven!

What a special man! Dr. Lewis took good care of Ike and Bigger when I met and befriended his daughter Amy. She was my best friend for about 12 years -- and what a wonderful house to go to! He was such a nice and gentle man and I named a stuffed bear Lewis in his honor. He took great care of a whole parade of family dogs after Ike and Bigger and they, along with Raffles, Bridie, and Sasha all must be in heaven, licking him with warm welcomes.

Oh Doc. My heart. I miss you already. There will never be another vet, ever, who can take your place. We forged thru a long road of rescue animals together for many, many years. Mrs. Betsy even knew my voice as soon as she answered the phone. I will miss bringing you yummy treats and receiving one of the best hugs. You will always have a special place in my heart....take care of all those amazing animals who met you at Rainbow Bridge...give them lots of loves for me. Love you Doc. Caryn
