Spang, Joseph J. P.E. Found peace on Sunday, October 9, 2016 from natural causes. Age 76 years. Loving husband of Rose (nee Purpero) for 53 years. Devoted and loving father of Ginamarie Spang, Rosemarie (Matthew) Pankow, Annemarie Donahue and Joseph C. Spang. Cherished grandfather of Jacob Pankow, Rebecca Pankow, Angelina Pankow, Daniel Pankow, Sarabeth Pankow, Maria Berry, David Berry, and Kaitlin Berry. Further survived by other family and friends. Memorial Visitation THURSDAY, October 13, 2016 from 9:30AM-11:00 AM at ST. ALPHONSUS CATHOLIC CHURCH 6060 W. Loomis Rd. Greendale. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Joseph was a graduate of St. Mary's Catholic High School in Menasha, Wisconsin where he was taught by the School Sisters of Norte Dame, who highly encouraged him to further his education in engineering. He then proceeded to earn his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Marquette University, and was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He was also a past member of Pompeii Men's Club and Knights of Columbus. Joseph was a devoted family man who loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and also his "First Friday Club". He was also a long time member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Angels Grace Hospice for the great care that was given to Joseph's brother Jerry Spang during his time of need or Alverno College-Charles and Rosalie Purpero Scholarship Fund.

Dear Rose and family,
I am sorry I was not able to attend the services for your husband, father and grandfather. I would have preferred expressing my sympathy in person, but I have remembered each of you and him in prayer. His obituary gave information of how he lived a full life. May he rest in peace.
