Joseph Talsky Obituary

Talsky, Joseph T. "Joe" Attorney Joseph Theophil Talsky died peacefully on July 12, 2014. He celebrated his 100th birthday with family and friends on March 16 of this year. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph J. and Anna (Roubik), his dear wife of 58 years Lydia (Holub), and his six siblings, Marie, Elizabeth, Rudolph W., Victoria Kadlec of LaCrosse, Valerian, and Edward. Dad is survived by his five devoted children, Richard (Joyce), Gerald (Betty Bergstrom) of Chicago, Joanne (Stephen) Potts of Aurora, IL, Ronald (Margaret), and Valerie of Aurora, IL. Dad is further survived by his ten admiring grandchildren, Joseph M., Ellen, Amy, Stephen, Thomas, Emily, Alexandra, Rachel, Daniel, and Jeanine, as well as 22+ great - grandchildren. Joe is also survived by good friends, other relatives, and business acquaintances. Joe graduated from Marquette University High School in 1932 and Marquette University Law School in 1938. He contributed to these schools and other organizations throughout his life. After obtaining his law degree, Joe went into the banking and real-estate business with his father and siblings at Mitchell Savings and Loan on the corner of 16th and Mitchell in Milwaukee. He was a successful lawyer and very friendly banker. He was the president of the Saving and Loan from 1962 to 1983 and chairman of the board from 1983 to 2000. Joe and his brother Rudy started the Talsky & Talsky law firm. Joe's nephew John joined him in his law practice and continues on today. Mitchell Savings and Loan is now part of Pyramax Bank. Joe loved his work family and his home family. He enjoyed fishing with his friends, mushrooming, singing in choirs, bowling, playing Sheepshead, teaching his children to drive and fish, and eating out with family and friends. Dad wanted to live to 100 to set an example for his children and grandchildren, but his friendly manner and generous spirit are his real examples. Dad stayed active with his children and grandchildren and spent the last few years at Heritage Memory Care in West Allis. Dad's family is grateful for his fine care at Heritage Memory Care and from Asera Care Hospice. We will miss him very much. Visitation on Friday, July 18 from 10AM-11AM at HOLY ROSARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2011 N. Oakland Ave., Milwaukee. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11AM. Entombment at Mount Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Riverwest Food Pantry or the Milwaukee Guest House would be appreciated. My sympathy to Joe's family. I have many memories of joe at St Wenceslaus, singing in the choir, playing cards at our home, fishing at Fox Lake, weekly lunches with my late husband, Dick Pautz!
He was a true gentle man!

My sympathy to Joe's family and friends.
While the ailments that arrive with age will prevent me from being at the service, I wanted all of you to know that I had the good fortune to work with Joe
when he participated in Wisconsin Savings and Loan League
functions. I was CEO of the League for 31 years
until I retired and coached the League through a
merger with the WBA. Joe had great integrity and
a super sense of humor. He was a kind, concerned and dedicated, gentle man and it was my sincere
pleasure to have opportunities to work with him.
I've not doubt the Deity gave him an express trip
to his new office.
Sincerely,
William Brouse CAE

My prayers are with the family.I will never forget working for the Talsky family at Mitchell Savings and Loan. It was my first teller job in 1980 and I am to this day still in the banking business. Mr. Talsky was so very sweet. I will treasure the memories.

My deepest sympathy and prayers at the loss of Joe. I will always remember his generous spirit and kind smile. For many years we sang together before Mass at Clement Manor. He volunteered in many other ways as well helping residents in any way he could but mostly with his big smile and loving attitude. I am happy that he's now back together with his dear wife Lydia.
God Bless you Joe.
