Joshua Bascom Obituary

Bascom, Joshua John April 16, 1992 - October 2, 2018 Josh left us for the final time late, late at night last Monday. As usual, he was up later than the rest of us. Now he can finally rest in peace. We all remember Josh as the one with the biggest smile and warmest, most loving heart. He was always up for anything. Any time you needed a poster made or a t-shirt designed, Josh was your man. Look no further. A talented artist and musician, he was the glue in many groups. Who will ever forget the Hawley Road Curse. His bandmates, Jack, Tim and Jackson certainly never will. Even Lew sat in on the drums in the beginning. Josh graduated from skiing, to snow boarding to long boarding, with his hair changing style and color in a heartbeat. Purple mohawks anyone? With all of that movement and change came a love of others which filled him to overflowing. Sadly, he cared for others more than he cared for himself. But if that's the worst you can say of someone, they're doing OK. Josh was preceded in death by his loving mother, Mary Catherine, his Nana, Mary Burns, his aunt Mary and his uncle Pepper. They welcome him home with open arms, bathed in the warmth of that wonderful smile. Josh leaves behind his father, Tim, who is joined in sadness by his loving wife Steph, Aunt Jori and Uncle Tom, Uncle Richard and Aunt Jeanne, and Uncle J. He will also be missed by his Uncles Bob, Mike and David, his birth mother Joan, sisters Amber and Addie, his niece Jyleena, as well as numerous cousins and a boat-load of friends. Perhaps most of all, his buddies from St. Jude, MUHS and the band will miss him and all that he brought into play. We will all miss you Josh, and that great incredible smile. Keep on playing for us and we'll meet you on the other side. All of our love. Forever.

I just learned today about Josh's passing. I am so sorry about this. Josh had a joyous personality and goodwill towards all. He seemed wise and mature beyond his years. My son Jim really like Josh and wishes he had stayed in touch after high school. The world is a worse place without Josh.

Josh, I only met you a few times, but when I did you always seemed to have an infectious smile, a positive demeanor, and a free spirit that wanted to make others happy. God saw that, and decided that you had earned your wings. Rest in peace, and be free in God's Kingdom.
