Judith Frutchey Obituary

Frutchey, Judith Carol "Judi" (Nee Wilson) Of Brookfield, age 69, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2013, surrounded in love by her husband, Jim, and her family. She is survived by her daughters Heather (Kevin) Jones of Highlands Ranch, CO and Jennifer (Jens) Muehlhausen of Las Vegas, NV and by her sons Ben (Jennifer) Boldt of Milwaukee, WI; James (Sarah) Frutchey III of Eagle, WI, and Robert Frutchey of Brookfield, WI. Judi was the proud Grandma and Nana of eight grandchildren: Alexandra, Emily, and Madelyn Jones, Tyler Boldt, Victoria, Grace, and James IV Frutchey, and Logan Muehlhausen. She was also the sister of Byron Wilson of Wanatah, IN and Phyllis Drucks of Eugene, OR. Judi was born in Valparaiso, IN on May 11, 1943, the daughter of Charles A. and Katherine J. (nee Harbeck) Wilson. She was baptized in the Christian faith at Trinity Lutheran Church in Valparaiso, IN and is now resting with her Heavenly Father after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Judi graduated from Valparaiso University with a degree in education. Working with children was something her heart called her to do. She touched the lives of many while teaching 2nd grade in California, volunteering with the art cart at Children's Hospital, and spending time with her grandchildren. Judi always cared about the needs of others and put those needs before her own. She was an avid lover of nature and spent many hours working in the yard and with flowers. Throughout her lifetime Judi enjoyed golf, cross country skiing, curling, and spending time at Morningstar Golfers Club. Although Alzheimer's stole many of her passions, her energy for life and family never waivered. Judi's contagious laugh and smile will be missed by all, but in the words of her favorite singer, Garth Brooks, "I could have missed the pain, but then I'd have had to miss The Dance." Visitation will be held at Morningstar Golfers Club, S77 W26285 Prairieside Drive, Waukesha, WI from 1:00 - 4:00 PM on Sunday, March 24. Private family services will be held in Wanatah, IN and in Philadelphia, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Judi's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. You may call them at 973-586-4300 for options and details on making a contribution.
