Kathy was a dear friend to many, many who did't even know her. She would always crochet afgans and make a layette for any baby she heard of. She loved children. She loved everyone unconditionally. She was a giver who never expected what she would get in return.
Kathy was a Christian who lived her beliefs in God and didn't club anyone over the head with what she believed in. She did that by example.
Kathy's physical pain was great. Her body began to betray her many years ago. With diabetes, congestive heart failure, kidney dialysis, amputation, etc. Yet through all she endured she kept her faith in God and accepted whatever crisis she faced. She continued on with life unabated.
Kathy accepted the challenge of raising her grandson who was born with many disabilities. She loved him and met the challenge head on with gusto. She marveled at something as trivial as a smile and you would have thought she won a million dollars when she exclaimed over his progress. She was helped in this endeavor by her daughter Sherry. God bless you both for your caring nature.
I spoke of my friend Kathy to many and would tell people of her and how she suffered when pain and disease ravaged her body. Through all of this she proclaimed her love of God and accepted everything that came her way. She was and will continue to be an inspiration to me.
If ever there was a saint on earth, it was Kathy. She earned her star in heaven and will contine to shine and guide the path of her loved ones. She has just taken on a heavenly form instead of her physical one which let her down so often. She is flying and running with God now and will be the guardian angel from now on. She passed from this earth to one of eternal paradise. She is free of pain and now experiences the rapture of God's presence.
We who loved Kathy will miss her greatly, but I know she is just a prayer away. She will be guiding her children and grandchildren in her spiritual form now. She is not gone, simply beside us more now than when she was on earth.
I remember meeting Kathy at Salvation Army camp many years ago. We became friends and remained such through the years. I remember when she had a paper route and would stop by my house almost daily and we would chat for hours sometimes. We shared our happiness and troubles. We had a lot of fun.
Though I cannot be here today, I wanted to take this opportunity to share with her family what a wonderful person she was.
