Oh, Kappy - a pip extraordinaire!
My family moved next door to the Keown family when we were young - I was about 4 years old and my sister, Pat, was 11 or 12. Kappy became Pat's best friend, and Kristy (Kappy's sister) became mine. Over all these years, we have always been in touch, like an extended family, sharing lots escapades, pubescent tragedies and comedies, life-defining experiences, intimacies, failures, and successes over the past 50+ years. We have history.
At this juncture of my life, I doubt that I will ever again have the joy of knowing anyone else who comes even close to being such a totally unpredictable, lively, interesting, engaging, contradictory, thoughtful, and more often than not, empathetic personality like Kappy – my sister Pat agrees. Kappy always did and always will keep my life interesting and reflective.

We only knew Kathy for a couple of years. She was so full of life and was so happy. She loved to talk with you and she loved her dogs. Wayne, I know you will miss her greatly. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

My very sincere condolences to the family members.
Kappy had been my dearest friend for 53 years and I will miss her so very much. She was a grand and social woman who had the ability to mix with people of varying personalities. She filled her life with longstanding friendships. Her family was the core of her happiness.
She and I had kept in close touch over the years while being separated by miles, but got together for infrequent lunches which were always loaded with hilarious reminiscing. I will sorely miss our long phone calls which included many "profoundly philosophic", contraversial, and LOL discussions.
Kappy, a day will not come, for the rest of my life, that I won't think of you and miss you.
