Johnnie Wester Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory - Live Oak on Jan. 30, 2026.
Johnnie "John" Henry Wester, 81, of Live Oak, Florida, passed away peacefully on Monday morning. Born on April 11, 1944, in Dothan, Alabama, John lived a life defined by love for his family, service to others, and a steadfast commitment to doing what was right.

John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1968 to 1972. During his time stationed in Montana, he met the love of his life, Terrie Ann Wester, whom he married and shared many wonderful years with until her passing in 2017. After his military service, John and Terrie moved to Florida, where he completed his degree in Agriculture at the University of Florida and settled in Live Oak, Florida.

John spent his professional career working for PCS in White Springs, retiring as a Reclamation Manager. He was deeply proud of his work and was known for his strong work ethic and integrity.

Above all else, John loved his family. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Sarah Wester (wife Stephanie), and his son, David Wester (wife Sarah). He was an especially proud grandfather to his four granddaughters-Adelyn, Rylee, Lillith, and Azalea-who brought him immense joy and were truly the light of his life.

John was known as a caring and compassionate man who always tried to see the best in others. He never hesitated to help a friend in need and lived his life with quiet generosity. He was a longtime, devoted member of Epiphany Catholic Church in Lake City, Florida. In service to his faith and community, John worked passionately with the Lake City Pregnancy Care Center, where he volunteered faithfully and served as a board member.

John will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the love he shared so freely with those around him.

A memorial service will be held at Epiphany Catholic Church in Lake City, Florida, on February 5th, 2026 at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Lake City Pregnancy Care Center in John's memory.
