Kenneth Becker Obituary

Becker, Kenneth J. Of Menomonee Falls, entered Eternal Life on Thursday, May 29, 2014, at the age of 89 years. Loving husband of the late Marilyn (nee Strathearn) for sixty-five years. Cherished father of Michael (Jeanne), the late Renee, Stephen (Christine), Curtis, Joel (Diane), Russell, Amy (Michael) Myers, Kenneth (Hilde), the late Martha Anne, Thomas, Julie Lochmann, and Nicholas (Patricia). Proud grandfather of Jenny (Brian), Molly, Angie (Gavin), Sam (Jessie), Carly (Jake), Max (Amber), Jarrod (Danielle), Derek (Erin), Lucas, Megan, Tanner, Adam (Jen), Emily, Beau (Casey), Jason (Tiffany), Jonathan, Jordan, Nathan, Kyle (Melissa), Alex, Elise (Darren), Ethan, Emma, Josh (Alison), Rachel, Zach, Gabe, Abby (Andy), Katy, Andrew, Laura, Cole, Kaleb, Hannah, Rayna, Devin, and Erin. Great-grandfather to Tyler, Owen, Nadia, Luka, Brody, Lacey, Ashlyn, Bryce, Logan, Peyton, Haleigh, Sean, Callie, Lyla, Robin, Lark, Graham, Landon, Carson, Nora, Liam, Berkley, and Leo. Dear brother of Donna Hanke. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Kenneth was born and raised on the Becker family farm in Menomonee Falls-the same land farmed by his great-grandparents since their arrival from Germany in 1844. Marilyn and Ken were married in 1947 and as the children arrived, Ken along with his older brother, Ivan, started a family business specializing in underground utility burial. When his sons came of age, Ken started his own business with five of his sons-Ken Becker and Sons. The business is still in existence today. The love of farming never waned and Ken planted an incredible vegetable garden until it became physically difficult, at which point he strong armed some of his children to take over his labor of love. Ken is remembered as a hardworking and quiet man. He left an enduring legacy of a strong work ethic to his children and his grandchildren. He was devoted to his late wife, Marilyn, and fiercely yet humbly proud of his family. Visitation for Kenneth will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at the funeral home from 2 PM until time of Funeral Service at 4 PM. Private inurnment at St. Mary Church Cemetery, Menomonee Falls. Memorials appreciated to the Fisher House of Wisconsin (www.fisherhousewi.org).

Amy & Family - I just found out about your Dad. I always remembered your parents - your mom loved to laugh and your dad had that grin but a quiet man and a hard worker. What a beautiful life they have had and a wonderful legacy. You are all in my thoughts & prayers.

Dear Beckers,
I was very sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. I have many memories of him growing up including being my first employer shoveling pea gravel with Tommy and watching all the boys get their summer hair cuts in your back yard. Wishing you all the best,

Julie, and all -
Thinking about you all and wishing I was there. I have great memories of all the things our families did together, and know our parents were a huge part of that. So many funny stories I heard from my dad too about the crazy things they did to each other. Seemed like a contest all the time for the biggest lawn mower/tractor or tomato! Keeping you all in prayer and hoping some of those memories help bring some smiles. In peace, Therese and Dean Patterson

Dear Cousins,

Your Dad was definitely one of a kind. As a kid, I found him a little intimidating (years later he told me that he had to be intimidating to keep things in line), but as an adult, I found him to be a man with an easy laugh and a great capacity to see the bright side. He and Auntie Marilyn and all of you created enduring memories for me. Peace to him and all of you.

Sincerely,

Jackie Fischer

I will forever remember all the great conversations your Dad and I had during the three short years I helped take care of him. He truly was one of the greatest men I have ever known!! He will be missed. Thoughts and prayers to the whole family.
