Kevin Mattingly Obituary

Mattingly, Kevin Louis 62, of Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, died on October 10, 2011. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on August 16, 1949, to Dr. Richard and Mary Elizabeth Mattingly. Gone before him, his father Richard and sister, Kathleen. He is survived by his mother and brothers - Kerry (Patricia), Kent (Judy), Keith (Cheryl), Kelly (Terri) and Kris. Kevin served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1973 as a Medical Specialist and was assigned to a M.A.S.H Unit while in Vietnam. Among other recognitions and commendations he was awarded the Bronze Star for his service in Vietnam. He graduated with a B.A. degree in Psychology from Marquette University in 1978. Kevin was a humble person who was befriended by many including his close friend, Robert C. "Bob" Robison. He will be loved and missed by his many nieces and nephews especially Richard James (RJ). For 22 years, they shared a bond like father and son. Kevin enjoyed movies, reading, photography, sports and exploring America's natural wonders by car. His strongest and most admirable attributes were his excellent work ethic and his perpetual generosity. Kevin spent most of his career in the hospitality industry, serving in executive management positions at some of the area's finest hotels. There will be a mass for Kevin at 10AM on October 26, at St. Robert in Shorewood, Wisconsin. Private military service for immediate family will follow. Anyone wishing a special remembrance of Kevin, are welcome to make a contribution to his nephews education fund: Richard James Mattingly.

I remember befriending Kevin at Dominican and of him telling me of the large family he had off of Lake Drive. I played on the tennis team with his brothers Kerry & Kent. Kevin certainly deserves great respect having served in a Vietnam MASH unit!

My sincerest condolences
