I worked for and played softball & golf with the 'Skipper' while stationed at Kaneohe MCAS, HI. He pitched & I played first. When we went to the other side of the Island for an 'away' game, Capt Fout & Jane would drive his Chrysler New Yorker to the double headers. Kathy & I sat in the back seat. He'd bring a six pack & I would buy the cigars. On the ride back to base, I'd drive with Kathy also in the front seat while He & Jane sat in the back, sometimes enjoying the cigars I picked out and a cold beer. Golf? I was a USAF/Sgt/SSgt at Kaneohe MCAS. My responsibility was to get the 0600 tee time every Sunday morning, for 3 USN/Capts & myself. I did. Every now & then one of them would remind me, I was only 'allowed' to play with them because I could get the 0600 tee time.
'Skipper' was a great guy.
We have very fond memories of both of you..
Jane, Kathy & I send our best..... even at this late date.

I was Dr. Fouts nurse at the Clinic for 5 years. My first day, I heard him call from his office, Hey Donnabelle!. I told him my middle name was Ruth. He tried out both names, Donna Ruth, Donnabelle, a few times, then told me he liked Donnabelle better. From then on I was Donnabelle, he was Doc. No day was ever boring. He treated all his patients the same, he never talked down to them. When my son, Jon, was out of med. school, I mentioned it to Doc, and he got the ball rolling. Jon has been a Podiatrist at the Clinic since 2004. Thanks Doc. Im glad yall moved to be with your daughter and family. Jane, I remember how you always had rosaries with you, because you might find someone that needed one. I am proud to have Docs nurse, and friend of him and Jane.

I enjoyed just being around Dr Fout. I worked at the Defiance Clinic with him and my in-laws were friends of Larry and Jane so I saw him then. He was so personable and easy to be with. He was a special man.

What a wonderful and kind man he was. I always enjoyed working with him. We still have Duffy, his boxer that we adopted at 6 months old.
