Leonard Noffke Obituary

Noffke, Leonard A. Entered into his heavenly home on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at the age of 80 years. He was in the hospital after having knee replacement surgery and was suddenly taken while sleeping. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Lucille (nee Beyer). Loving father of Ken (Sue), Kathy (Dan) Gross, Jeannie (Mykel) Kaufmann and the late William. Cherished grandpa of Benjamin (Jenny), Jennifer (Alberto) Miranda, Sarah (BJ) Knuth, Jordayna (Dominic) Druke, Katie (Brian) Noffke, Dustin (Chrissy) Gross, Mykel Jay Kaufmann, Heather (Andy) Noffke, Jamie (Bruce) Russell, Jason Kaufmann, Bryan Kaufmann and Molly (Justin) Tyler. Proud great- grandpa of Nicky, Mackenzie, Ava, Lily, Brody, Wesley and Abby, who will deeply miss him. Further survived by esteemed friend Margarito along with many relatives and dear friends, whom he cared deeply for. He is preceded in death by his brother, Ronald and his parents, August and Idella. Visitation on Sunday, June 27, 2010, at Trinity-Freistadt Lutheran Church, 10729 W. Freistadt Rd., Mequon, from 2 PM until 5 PM. Visitation on Monday, June 28, 2010, at the church from 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. Memorials to Trinity-Freistadt Lutheran Church or Lutherans for Life appreciated. Leonard's passion, besides our Lord and his family, was work. Noffke Tree Farms, Noffke Roofing Company and Mequon Roofing Supply were founded by Len and Lucy, and hard work made them very successful. He touched the lives of many with his God fearing life and respect for all people. Known as "Grandpa" to young and old alike, thousands had a piece of his heart brought into their homes each Christmas holiday with a tree he had grown on his farms. Leonard served our country in the 32nd Infantry Division Wisconsin National Guard throughout the 1950's.

Not sure what to say?

July 1, 2010

Dear Friends in Christ:
Chris and I just found out about Leonard's passing from this life to be with our Lord in Heaven. Leonard was indeed a man of God and it was my privilege to be his (and yours) pastor for those years I was in Freistadt. I have many fond memories of seeing Leonard at the Christmas Tree lot - loving every moment of what he was doing. We also greatly appreciated the gift of a Christmas Tree each year. It is our prayer that our Lord will give you the comfort and peace that only He can give. God bless and keep you all in His care.
Lovingly in Christ,
Pastor and Chris Lindau

To Lucy and family, Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of sadness. Len was an amazing person!! Everyone who met him couldn't help but love his great sense of humor, his smile and thoughtfulness of those around him. He was a man we admired for his hard work ethics and fairness. You could make a deal with Len on a handshake and nothing more because his word held clout and honor! He was indeed one of the great men we had the opportunity to know and to work with. He will be greatly missed. May God Bless you all and hold you close.
