Grandma Salentine had a twinkle in her eye and a loving smile when ever I had the pleasure of spending time with her. I fondly recall the way she would provide comfort to me as a little boy whether it was babysitting when my parents were on vacation or helping me down when I was stuck in the tree in her backyard. As I grew older she showed her love and interest in me with meaningful questions about my life. After I became an adult with my own family she provided inspiration with her strength and ability to keep smiling through the obstacles that arise when one lives to be 94 years old. Even in death, Grandma Salentine continues to provide comfort as God has decided to take her during the holy week of Easter when we are reminded of the eternal life that awaits us all. I am certain that Grandma is smiling down on us now from Heaven.
