Dodds, Malcolm G. Of Wauwatosa. Born on August 23, 1929 in Des Moines, IA to John William and Jeannette (nee Ryder) Dodds. He was born to Eternal Life on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, age 85 years. Dear husband for 55 years of Ann (nee Hart). Beloved dad of John (Sheila) Dodds and Mary (Don) Heyrman. Proud grandpa of Tim and Paul Heyrman. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, John (Margaret) Dodds, Gregory (Kay) Dodds and Cyril (Rosemary) Dodds; his brother-in-law, John Hart and his Aunt, Helen Ryder. Malcolm graduated from Marquette University (Arts '51) and obtained his Masters in Education Administration from the University of Iowa. During the Korean Conflict, Malcolm attended Mine Warfare School in Yorktown, VA and was an executive officer of the mine sweeper, USS Courser. He taught mathematics and coached basketball at Marquette High School ('55-'61), Wauwatosa West ('61-'66) and Wauwatosa East ('66-'84). He later taught at Aquinas Academy in Menomonee Falls and was currently teaching at MATC. He earned a CFP designation in 1983. For the past 30 years, he was a devoted member of the local Medjugorje Prayer Group. Visitation Sunday, February 8 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, February 9 at 11:00 AM at CHURCH OF THE GESU, 1145 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Internment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Wisconsin Province Society of Jesus to benefit the elder Jesuits at St. Camillus are appreciated.

I played varsity basketball at Wauwatosa East under Coach Dodds for two years, graduating in 1969. What a great experience. He also taught an honors math course I took which included a two week section on statistics, which he had studied at Drake U. I so enjoyed that introduction that I majored in statistics at the U. of Tennessee. So, count me as one more whose life was influenced by him. Living now in California, I was unable to attend the funeral. Had I been able to do so, I would have joined all of his former players in more more jump stop drill in his honor. RIP Coach.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Dodds back when John and I attended Marquette High School. What a nice, kind and thoughtful gentleman he was. My sympathies go out to John and the entire family on your loss. All of you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I am saddened by the passing of a wonderful man who cared deeply for his wife and family. I always found Mal to be kind and thoughtful. His record in life as a teacher, coach and mentor for so many is a testament to him and to all of you. Please
know that my thoughts and prayers are being offered for the entire Dodds' family.

I played for Coach Dodds in 1970-72 at Tosa East. He was also my teacher in Trig! He taught me the fundamentals of basketball and life lessons that I still carry with me today. I last had the pleasure of visiting with Mr. Dodds at my mother's birthday party in West Bend two years ago. I was amazed he was still teaching! He was a wonderful man and my deepest condolences go to the family for their loss.

Under Coach Dodds, our Wauwatosa East team of 1969-70 went undefeated in regular season and succeeded in going to the semi-finals of the Wisconsin State Basketball Tournament in. I will never forget that entire year of high school basketball played at the highest level. His focus on fundamentals and team play provided life lessons to me that I appreciate to this day.
