I had the pleasure of knowing Mark and the Spitz clan personally for many years. Not only did I serve under Mark in the Wisconsin Army National Guard but also was part of their family for many years. Mark was always there to offer a hand, listen when you needed an ear and make you laugh when you needed it most. Honestly, the whole extended Spitz clan is amazing at that. Mark will be remembered most by me for his kindness, leadership and big heart. There is nothing he wouldn't do for someone he cared about and nothing he wouldn't give. Thoughts, prayers and love to the entire Spitz family during this time. May you find peace in HIS love and joy in the memories that you shared with Mark. God Bless.

Served in the Wisconsin National Guard and Wisconsin National Guard Enlisted Association with Mark for many good years. He was always an asset to any mission with his good natured professionalism. He cared about and cared for his soldiers setting the example of a great Non-Commissioned Officer. I felt fortunate to have the privilege to serve along side him and call him a friend. He will be missed.
He and Shirley were always ready to take leadership roles in the Enlisted Association and Auxiliary and could be counted on to go above and beyond to make each event a success.

Mark was a giving, caring one of a kind, but a true Spitz ! An early winner of the Prestigious "COUSIN OF THE YEAR " AWARD (circa 1987?) , Mark had an infectious laugh and it will live with us as we recall many of the great family gatherings over so many years. He served his country well and his extended family even better. You were a great cousin. We'll miss you Mark...Thanks for great memories Mark & Shirley !
