Bill
Pete and I have been thinking of you and were not aware of Mary's passing. I was just looking at one of the artworks hanging in my office and googled her to discover her passing. We will stop in when we are in the area. Hugs and love to you. Eileen and Pete Gossen

Words cannot begin to express the sadness that I felt when I heard about Mary's passing. She touched so many people that never even had a chance to meet her. Through her art, through pictures of her beautiful gardens, and through her kindness to all living things. She rescued the dogs that were thrown away by others and helped friends who others gave up on. She generously gave harvested vegtables to others and seeds from the flowers in the gardens that she and Bill tended to all season long. And then there was her art. How can you describe her ability to take a chunk of wood, an old bowl, cupboard piece, gourd, or any object that looked like it should have been thrown away and turn it into something simply beautiful. One can't. That was just one of the things about Mary that I envied, and loved. She will live on in our hearts, our thoughts and when I look at the many pieces of her art that I am fortunate to have, I will smile, and remember how she told me she had made it, or what it was made from, or how she got it and feel proud that she was my cousin and my friend. Love you Mary.

Dear Bill,
I was so sorry to learn of Mary's passing. As it happens, on the day I saw her obituary, I was wearing a pin she had created and I had received an enthusiastic compliment on it from a new colleague. Mary's art is a part of our daily life, but never more so than at Christmas time.
I also fondly remember the time that she learned that I was unfamiliar with Swiss chard and so sent me home with a grocery bag full of a rainbow of Swiss chard from your garden.
I will remember her generosity and creativity. Peace to her memory and consolation to you.

We will remember the last time we visited Mary and Bill a few years ago. As we approached their backdoor that evening Mary was howling inside with her dogs. Greg started howling outside and boy we all got a big laugh out of it! Will always cherish Marys artwork that we have acquired from loved one. God needed a wonderful, funny craftswoman in heaven and He chose Mary.
