Wartinbee, Mary Ann Mary Ann Wartinbee, 84, of Brookfield/Waukesha, Wisconsin was reunited with her husband on Wednesday, September 20, 2017. Born in La Crosse, WI on October 4, 1932 to Joseph and Selma (Hole) Maier. She attended Logan High School, graduating in 1950. She was married to James R. Wartinbee, Sr. of La Crosse for 62 years. In her early years of marriage while raising a young family, she worked as a nurse's aide at the Madison Veterans Hospital. Always a giving person, she volunteered many hours for her church, Jaycettes (past state president) and the Waukesha Service Club. Her generous ways extended to her family and friends sharing special times, baking Christmas cookies, fudge, knitting Christmas stockings and finishing hand-made ceramics gifts for every holiday. She is survived by her three son: James Jr (Mary), Dr. Daniel R. (Betty), and Steven (Karen) Wartinbee. She was the proud grandmother (Nana) to Marie (Jacob) Junkmann, Dr. Daniel A. (Anna) Wartinbee, Timothy (Jenny) Wartinbee, Emily (Ty) Landers, Michael (Jenaille-Northey) Watinbee, and Jared Wartinbee and a proud "adopted Nana" to many fortunate extended relatives. She was also a loving Great-Nana to Jayce and Madeline Junkmann, Daniel Jr. and John Wartinbee, Jack Landers, and TJ Wartinbee Jr. She is further survived by brothers, James (Carol), Robert, and Joseph (Marilyn) Maier and a sister Linda (James) Curtis, and also by her in-laws, John Bruemmer, Jack Wartinbee, Ann (James) Reeve, and Lois (Gary) Stuhr. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, and sister-in-laws; Shirley Maier, Cecilia Wartinbee, Marge Wartinbee, Jean Bruemmer, Ellen Wartinbee and brother-in-law Bob Wartinbee. For its wonderful care giving and friendship, the family extends our deep thanks and gratitude to the management and staff at Congregational Home Brookfield. A memorial service will be held in Brookfield, WI at Congregational Home, 13900 W. Burleigh Road, at 3:00 PM on Monday, September 25. Funeral services will also be held on Wednesday, September 27 at 11:00 AM at Christ Episcopal Church, 831 Main Street, La Crosse. Father Patrick Augustine will officiate and burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until time of services.
