To Ma, Matt, Linda and other family members, I hope time will heal your broken hearts and the memories of good times with Matt will bring a smile to your face and comfort in the days to come.
It is difficult to put into words how much I will miss Matt because he was a cherished friend, a tutor and guide in the biker world and like family. Behind his tough/rough exterior was a man I loved like a Father. The pains and suffering of this life are now ended and he has begun a new road trip with many other departed souls that have been part of our history. Matt will always ride with me in my heart.
Rest in Peace dear friend until we meet again.

It was my pleasure to work with Matt during his stay at St. Luke's. He spoke fondly of his family and proudly of his children. My deepest sympathies to Linda, Matt and the rest of the family. May your fondest memories of Matt bring you comfort in this time of sorrow.

The biker grapevine has carried the news of Matt's passing to me in Arizona and I am sorry to hear about the loss of this great man.
I have great respect for how public he was with his recovery, he was a good role model for others who still suffered with addictions.
I know my father enjoyed his friendship with "Big Matt" and that the engines of their Heavenly Harleys are no doubt responsible for the thunder you hear during the rainstorms, and that they're riding the rainbows we see after the storms.

Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.

My life would not have been complete without having had the pleasure of knowing you. I know that you are now in a much better place and giving the angels a run for their money (sheepshead and otherwise). Thanks for all you have given to the many communities in which you have been involved. RIP, Big Matt. Don Clabots.

I met the "Pachi" family many, many years ago. I am from Presque Isle and my father was Bill Rutherford, I remember we went to Matt's house one year to watch him make deer sausage. The name has always stuck with me and I thought of you all very often.I am very sorry for your loss, may God always be with you..
