Taylor, Mavis I. (Nee Irwin) Passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2019 at age 85. Preceded in death by her loving husband Gavin Jr., their 57th wedding anniversary was Sunday June 23. Also preceded in death by her mother, Charlotte Scott, and father, Robert Irwin. Loving mother of Kathryn (Jonathan) Ambelang, Gavin Taylor III, and Alison (the late Daniel) Aranda. Proud grandmother of Jonathan, Taylor, Gavin IV, Amanda, Jack, and Thomas. Survived by a sister-in-law Elizabeth (Richard) Glidden and nieces Jane, Susan, and Polly. Further survived by great nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. Born and educated in Scotland, Mavis immigrated to America in 1961 from Toronto. Mavis was a retiree from St. Michael's Hospital in Milwaukee, where she worked as a surgical nurse. She was an active member of Crossroads Presbyterian Church in Mequon and a long-time member of Hartford Country Club. Mavis enjoyed her many friends at Curves, Hartland Book Club, Grafton Newcomers, Grafton Bridge Club, and Ladies Golf "Ha-Thornebirds", to name a few. She enjoyed traveling, was an avid golfer, and often mixed the two. Snowbirds, she and Gavin spent winters in Gulf Shores, Alabama, always renting enough space for visitors. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren & family. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. A Visitation will be held on Friday, June 28 from 11 a.m. until the time of a Service at 1 p.m. at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 380 Bluemound Road (Corner of Hwy J and JJ) in Waukesha.
