Mel was a wonderful person, man, psychiatrist. I admired his generosity and gentleness in his work with patients. He was very kind and could see the whole person, not just the psychiatric diagnosis. He was approachable and an excellent mentor to others. I miss him and his death is a loss to all who knew him, no matter the circumstances.

So sorry to have just learned of Mel's passing. I am glad to have known and worked with such a bright and caring physician. I remember how wonderful it was to see Mel and Terri fall in love. What a beautiful family resulted. Terri I am so very sorry for your loss.

thank you, Dr. Melvin! Without your guidance and support, I would be so lost in this world. When you gave me the proper diagnosis and prescribe the much needed medication, my world turned toward the sunshine, instead of darkness.
Rest in peace, our area truly lost a great person and an amazing physician.

So disheartened to hear of Mel's passing but so privileged to have known and worked with him.
On meeting him initially he said call me "Mel" and smiled. I cherish all the time that I was blessed to work closely together. It was during some of the difficult times that I will remember Mel for his ability to deal with others in such a compassionate manner. I was an RN but he treated me respectfully and professionally. He was bright, energetic and compassionate and always strived to do the right thing for his patients.
Once meeting in a furniture store he smiled, called out my name and gave me a hug and chatted like old friends.
Mel, you were a standout human being. It was an absolute honor knowing you.

To Terrie and Family,
Know Mel is with you always in the eyes of his children and grandchildren. His spirit will remain and as time moves forward you will be comforted from memories of him. Mel, you will always remain in our hearts. You fought a hard fight and gave your family as much time as you could to help ease their grief. Be at peace knowing he is not in any more pain. Always, Scott and Cheryl Eskridge
