Klawitter, Michael A. Of Arlington Heights Michael A. Klawitter was born on July 20, 1945 in Milwaukee, WI to Lawrence and Josephine (nee Pokrzywinski) Klawitter. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, March 24, 2018. Mike was a proud grandfather, supportive father, and loving husband. He was an avid Packer fan, Marquette Warrior, storyteller, member of the Knights of Columbus, coach, mentor, and loving caregiver. He also served in the Army Reserves. Mike coached his children's sports teams for over ten years. As a coach he encouraged strong effort, taught the tools needed to win, but most of all emphasized the importance of having fun. This encouragement spilled over into academics as well. All three of Mike's children followed in his footsteps to his Alma Mater, Marquette University. Mike is survived by his wife, Julie (nee Stang); his loving children Joseph (Kristen) Klawitter, David Klawitter and Jennifer (Glenn) Piala; granddaughters Josephine and Shaelyn Klawitter. He was adored by his brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation Saturday, March 31, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the 2:00 PM Prayer Service at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, April 2, 2018 at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee, WI. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society at www.donate3.cancer.org.
