I enjoyed working with Mike during his time at Bell MS. He could be counted on to do the best for the students entrusted to him. Mike was smart funny and dedicated.

My daughter had Mr. Laufer in a art class at Bradley Tech. She told me that he was and still is her favorite teacher. He taught her so much. Rest in Peace Mr. Laufer.

My deepest sympathy and prayers are with you. I worked with Mike for many years at Bell M.S. He always had a smile or a joke and the halls filled with color. His students created beautiful works of art that decorated our halls. Your beauty and shinning memories will always be with me. You will be missed.

Mike was one of the first people I met when moving ino room 242 in
August, 1996. Yes, he immediately let me know about his politics, but I found out about his warmth a bit later. He, Ed Romans and I took a good bit of ribbing when we went to see "The Full Monty" together. The three of us often went to dinner or the bars together. In closing I'd like to say:
So long, my friend,
I'll never forget
The discussions we've
Had and the way you
Showed your love and devotion
To your craft and to those who
Took the time to know you
And were lucky enough
To call you friend.
God bless and keep you.

I worked with Mike for many years at Bell. My second year at Bell, he was a fellow ex. ed. teacher across the hall from me. He had a good sense of humor, always ready with an entertaining story. He has touched many lives and will be remembered fondly.

I worked with Mr. Laufer at Bell Middle School for 12 years and will always remember his spirited "political debates" with Mr. and Mrs. Hanson. He was a great co-worker and I think of him each day, teaching in Room 104 next to me, always cheerful, caring, compassionate, full of timely wisdom - an all around true teacher in every sense.

Please accept my condolences regarding your loss. Mike was a supportive colleague to me when I began my teaching career at Bell M.S. He always had a smile and a joke for me at the end of the day. He taught me the importance of taking time to laugh with my students as we learned together.
I will remember Mike and your family in my prayers.

I had the joy of working with Mike at Tech. He was one of the most interesting, kind, and talented people I have had the pleasure of knowing. His caring, compassion and concern for his students was evident, and his students loved him for it. He will truly be missed.

Mr. Laufer, wow what can i say about the man who got me interested in pursuing a career in the art field. Every day in my final year at Bradley Tech I looked forward to his class as my daily retreat to the wonderful world of art. Not only was Mr.Laufer a standout great guy, he was a standout teacher. Ranging from talks to our class about the importance of art in society to the fun of the projects he assigned, but i never took it as an assignment I took it as part of Mr.Laufer's amazing passion in art. He will truley be missed, but will live on forever in the memories of everyone at tech. He was a role model to not just me, but to everyone. I send my condolences to your family and im sorry to hear about this loss. Mr.Laufer inspired me alot, he was one of the most influential people in my life during that last year at tech and im going to miss him alot.

I taught with Mike for many years at Bell. He was always upbeat about everything and would love to debate. He was the one I looked for when I needed advice or someone to joke around with. He was one of our card playing group and always tought he could outsmart every game. I will miss his friendly face and his tact.
