I was recently thinking about Mike as I remember something he once said to me. It is unfortunate that in my internet search for him , I am now reading his obituary. I met Mike 40 years ago while working at Sentry Foods. I was 16 at the time. Mike helped me enroll as well as tour a college campus during the first summer which I had known him.
The reason why I searched for Mike was that I remember him telling me that all you need to do to prepare for your retirement was save $100,000. Boy, would I like to talk and laugh with Mike about that now.
All around straight-shooter, disciplined and fair, I remember Mike to be.
May he rest in peace.

I’ve known Mike since he was my first store director at Cub Foods. He was a wonderful person to work for and with and will be missed greatly.

I have one very vivid memory of Mike. It was 1967, I was 6 and Mike was 11. I had broken my leg. His mother, sister and he came to visit. They brought me a game which required significant assembly. He took the time to put it together before he left. He was so nice, patient and kind. I was so proud to have such a considerate cousin. Thank you Mike

60 years of friendship, grade school, high school, UW Madison and back to Muskego. Our mothers got us together, and I brought your school books to your house when you had childhood illnesses. Raised trouble together, with your sister coming to our rescue. Only Karen knows what I am referring to. Our parents would have killed us if they ever knew. Were extreme competitors at everything, and were strong supporters of each other when support was needed. You were the best friend one could ever have, and you will always be remembered and sadly missed.

I worked with Mike at Cub Foods years ago. A great manager and all around good guy. So sorry to hear of his passing at such a young age. Rest in Peace Mike.

Devastating to loose one of the best people I know. Someone who has been a friend to me and an uncle to my children for over 30 years. Mike was always there for us when we needed him. My children learned many things about life from “uncle Mike”; caring for his family and friends was an instinct. He did his best to include our family in activities and always made us feel speciaL. We tried to do the same for him. Don’t really remember many holidays or birthdays without him. It is with much sorrow that we say “we wished we had more time to experience life with him in it.” We celebrate his life and the many things it brought to us. I know he will understand why I’m not there for a final farewell. I’m following Mike’s example in doing for my family whatever is necessary. He was one of my very best friends on this earth and someone I knew I could trust. Life will be less without him!

*My kids will never forget the M&Ms and I never told anyone when it was your birthday

Mike touched so many lives for the good. We are grateful we had the chance to know him as both a great co-worker at Cub Foods and a friend. We will cherish all the memories and good times. With deepest sympathy, Lee Damazyn and Kathleen Toohey

Had the pleasure of working with Mike for many years at Cub Foods in West Allis where we were assistant managers to start. Mike was always a dedicated person and a hard worker and I was so happy for him when he finally got his chance to be a store manager which he richly deserved. We also played basketball togther for many years after work to release energy and stress and split a few Milwaukee brews. He enyoyed his sports and season tixs to the Bucks. Mike will be missed. I considered him a friend

I had the privilege to have known Mike for the last 7 years. We would see each other several times over the course of a week. Around the holidays I would see him so often he felt more like family than just my sales rep. I remember many Saturday mornings seeing him at my work as he would stock his wines before doing his grocery shopping. He always made a point of saying goodbye to me before he left the store. We shared many stories and laughs over the years. He was never short of compliments, was always true to his word, and dependable as could be. I like to think he had a hidden talent as a baker because he made some amazing cookies and treats every Christmas. The world lost a great person with Mike's passing. My wife and my many co-workers offer their condolences to his family & friends. His presence will be forever missed by all that knew him.

I met Mike 12 years ago. We helped each other on many projects. If I needed help with anything, he was there. Always fun to be with, liked to tease and made me laugh all the time. Great cribbage and sheepshead player, commissioner for fantasy football, good traveler, very loyal to his friends, and always picked the right wine. Like many people, I will miss him.

I worked with Mike for the past 12 years, he wasn’t just a coworker, he was a friend. Mike was funny, friendly, and a true professional. He cared about his work and I admired him a lot for that. We always had good conversations every Friday when I saw him. He used to bring in cookies to the office and he once gave me a very nice Bluetooth speaker he had earned through a sales incentive to me, without wanting anything for it. I often told him he was one of my favorite coworkers and one of our best sales people and although he probably thought I was being sarcastic and he’d laugh about it, I really meant it. I’m going to miss him terribly.

Mike was a co worker and a friend. No matter when I saw Mike or what I asked him, he always gave me a hard time, but in that loving friend way. And the without hesitation, 100% of the time, he gave me a caring answer to my question or a warm embrace. I loved that about him. He got me in that sense. Have some fun, but in the end care about the person. That was Mike. I will miss seeing him, talking with him, getting work and life advice from him and most of all that wry smile of his. He was a great man and taught me a lot. I will miss you dearly Mike.

Mike was my co-worker, my friend and truly one of the finest people I’ve had the pleasure to meet. He was a consummate professional to work with and was someone I learned from and looked up to. I will miss him dearly and think of him often, grateful to have so many great memories. My sincerest condolences to his family.

It was an honor to have known and worked with Mike these past 14+ years. He was kind hearted, hard-working, and an honest person that will be dearly missed forever, by everyone who had the privilege to know him. One of the best who was taken too soon and who had so much more to give this world. A big loss for all of us he left behind. We will miss you everyday.
