Milton Reich Obituary

Milton "Uncle" Milty" F. Reich, 84 of Hidden Meadows in Watertown, lost a long-time battle with heart and lung disease on Sunday, January 29, 2006 at Watertown Memorial Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 4, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Glenview Memorial Gardens Chapel in Ixonia. Visitation will be at the Chapel from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be directed to the family or to the charity of ones choice.

Milton was born April 4, 1921 in Milwaukee, son of Charles and Elsie Reich. On April 3, 1971, he married Lillian C. (Lahti) Visek in Milwaukee.

He had been employed by Schwerman Trucking Co., as a welder until his retirement in 1979, at which time he and his wife moved to Hidden Meadows Estates in Watertown. In the early 1980's, Milton played accordion with the Will Eske Band for a number of years. He was also known for his polka style accordion playing in and around the Milwaukee area for many years. Milton was a people watcher and loved to converse with just about everyone. On good weather days, he could be seen driving his power chair throughout Hidden Meadows, stopping along the way to talk to friends and neighbors. He also enjoyed watching the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers games on television.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian C. Reich of Watertown, 1 daughter, Jill (Fred) Stepp, Sr. of Union Grove; two sons, Jack (Barbara) Reich of Big Bend, Milton C. (Janice) Reich of Mukwonago: a step-son, John Ronald Visek, Jr. of Milwaukee; step-son, Scott Kurz; step-daughters, Patricia (Tony) Vollmer and Nancy Joan Kurz, all of Marinett. 1 sister, Marilyn Reich of Milwaukee. Grandchildren and step-grandchildren: Fred Stepp II; Cheryl (Dan) Pape; Tammy Stepp; Greg Loeffler and Angel (Scott) Loose; Jennifer, Rebecca and Jacob Reich; Tony Babic; Casey Kurz; Michael Kurz; Aaron Kurz; Daniel Hart; Brianna Block; Robert Vollmer, Corey Beth (Ryan) Brandt; Ricky Lee Whiting; Karen (Justin) King; Venessa Asaro. Great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren: Fred Stepp III; Christine and Daniel Pape; Candice, Spencer and Colin Elliot; Courtney Leannais; Anabelle Babic; Calysta and Chloe Kurz; Caeden Brandt; Christopher Wellner; Jasmine, Ethan and Brett Whiting; Ashley, Adrienne and Spencer King; and Dawsen John Asaro. Also survived by great-great-granddaughter, Tatiana Elliott.

He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Clarence and Elmer; 2 sisters, Violet Meyer, Lorraine Drefahl, a great-granddaughter, Rabecka Celeste Asaro and a great-great-grandson, Julius Elliott.
