Dr. Schuster was a kind, gentle and brilliant man for whom I had both the pleasure and honor of working. He will always remain in the hearts of those who had the good fortune of working in the Clinical Laboratory with him. His passing truly marks the end of a very special era.
My sincerest sympathy to his family.

I got to know Dr. (Myron) Schuster through my friendship with his son, Richard, in high school. My sense of Dr. Schuster was that he was very bright and introverted, and yet, very warm and affable at the same time. Specifically, I remember fondly he and his wife, Peggy, taking Richard and me to dinner at an Asian restaurant (or, as we used to call them at the time, Oriental). It was my first time tasting this kind of food, and I remember liking it. He also took Richard and I snowmobiling one winter day. I recall laughing a lot and feeling very cold; this was the only time I have ever ridden on a snowmobile. Dr. Schuster was kind and generous to me, and I pray that he is on the way to Heaven right now. He was a good man.

He was the last of his generation in the family, and with his passing it is also the end of an era. The things I remember most are simple things, usually involving the propagation of knowledge. I recall a walk through a wooded area at Waupaca where he showed us a "walking stick" insect and told us about other insect survival strategies. Anyone else remember?
