Saw Woz's Post on Randy . Strange after all these years I remember that. Being the backup QB to Randy was a challenge. I always respected him as a friend and better athlete. I fell blessed to still be able to be here to remember these times. Someday we will all reconvene and run a "Jungle Run" with our QB1. God Bless Randy , you made an impact and never will be forgotten. #11!!

I was the center to Boz. I have fond memories of Randy. I remember one where Randy was getting on us because he didn´t have enough time to find Wysocki down field for a pass in practice. The linemen - offense and defense played a joke on Randy by calling a look out block. As I snapped the ball to Randy, we all turned around and said look out as everyone rushed at Randy. He managed to outrun everyone and run down field. The joke was on us.

Boz; Seems to be the anniversary of you leaving us. Memories are made on solid foundations. You created that and are never forgotten. You pushed me harder to play in college and I still keep the letters we wrote to each other during hell week workouts and compared notes. Bless you buddy - you will never be forgotten. ##11....

It seems like yesterday we were all swimming in the pool or tossing around the football with “your girls”. You’d be so proud of them now. Brad and Lindsey have the best kids too. Life moves forward. Forever #LEGEND11

Remembering someone who always motivated me, was a friend who I still think about today. Boz you were taken too early, I know God had a plan and you are watching over us today. Its a whole different world today than when we were at Tech. I keep you in my prayers still brother. Someday we will be together tossing that pigskin together. You were the best

I'll never forget waiting for Uncle Randy and the rest of the family to show up for summer visits and wondering which kind of sweet ride the Bozichs would pull up in, Fully decked out van or huge Cadillac. Randy always knew how to travel in style! Some of my favorite memories of their trips would always include sitting on the dock and talking Sports with actual Family members! (as my Parents and Brother arent exactly what you'd call sports authorities)
It was really amazing watching Uncle Randy transform from the Big, Macho, somewhat formal Uncle into the Funny, Sweet-talking Grandpa that the girls got to be with. A truly great Uncle, May you Rest in Peace!

Had to add a note. After attending the wake and service for Randy, my family went to Door County for the weekend. Stoping for lunch at a remote restaurant I noticed a football game on the TV. It was the Liberty Bowl and Iowa State was playing in it. Why was this important? It shows that memories of a friend will never be forgotten and we will be reminded of them as we go forwarsd in our life. Watching the half time where Johnnie Majors (Randys Coach) was talking about his past teams and the 1972 Team that Randy played in, I remembered so clearly watching that game and seeing Randy on the TV when I was a student/athlete at UW -Madison. He will always be with all of us and Yes we will be reminded of him in the oddest of circumstances. God Bless Randy, I will always remember you

As a psychologist I would think I should know what to say to the family at the wake. I stumbled and mumbled. Simply put - I always thought Randy was one of the good guys. I share your sorrow and you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I was in Mr Bozich's class for 3 years and 3 hours a day. He was a tough but fair man and expected the best from you. I do not remember many teachers names I had at Custer but he has always been in the back of my mind all these years. He gave me a passion for the electrical field and I am still in that field and am very thankful that he was an influance in my life. Thanks Mr Bozich and god bless the Bozich family.

Mexico for Brad and Erin's wedding was beyond one of the best weeks of our lives-- sitting with Randy in the dining area well after others had left, he would talk to Blaine about wood working, tools and other manly things. Randy was beyond excited to tell me all about the chest he made for Erin as a surprise for the Wisconsin reception. What a hard secret to keep; heartfelt details about the chest and the leather halter and nameplate. We enjoyed spending time with everyone, but especially time with Randy.

Everyone has their moment, or their many moments that mean a lot with Randy-- this was ours.

Dear Bozich Family, I have had the honor of knowing your family for over 30 years. I have shared many family holiday dinners and gatherings and I was always in awe of the love that was shared with each other. Randy was a big brother, a wise and solid foundation in the family and everyone looked up to him. A devoted husband, father, brother and from what I have read here, friend and teacher. He will be missed by many and cherished always. My heart is deeply saddend with his departure from the lives of those that love him and my prayers are with you all. The Bozich clan is a stubborn determined lot so I'm pretty sure he will be keeping close tabs on all of you from his place beside the Father. I love you and am grateful to have been a part of your lives and to have known such a wonderful being over the years. God Bless and keep each of you.

To The Bozich Family,,,,
He was my shop teacher back in '75-'77 and helped me get my foot in the door at an electrical contractor with a reference.
He backed me up when I probably didn't deserve it. My own father passed in my junior year (1976 ) and pulled me aside when my grades fell off.
He gave me the "kick in the pants" when I needed it most, but was genuinely understanding. With his good words for me, I got an electrical apprenticeship, journeyman wireman, electrical foreman, service electrician, and then estimator. I'm still doing it these 35 years later.
I went back to Custer in about 2006 to give an estimate to the school district for upcoming electrical work. Who was walking down the main hall as soon as I walked in,,,,,,,, Mr. Bozich!!! I just about fell over in shock. I introduced myself and thanked him for what he did for me, as I never did forget. He didn't really remember me until I told him about my dad and some of the strong words he had for me. I really think he remembered me at that point. Even if he didn't, it was ok. He was the guy who started me out not with just a job, but a career. I told him that and thanked him. He seemed very gracious.
I'd like the whole family to know that he did make a difference. He did to me. I look back at what a stand-up teacher he was. I never forgot him and never will.

My sympathies to all of, you had a great man in your life!

I have been sitting here all weekend, in disbelief. It doesn't seem possible that my best friend of 30 years is gone. I feel privileged to have had Randy as a friend over these many years. He was a man that was always there for me, my family and anyone else that was fortunate enough to have had him in their life.

Randy was an amazing athlete. We played together for years. It was not only his skill that he brought to the field, but also his leadership. We could always depend on Randy. He was punctual. He was organized. He was prepared. We could always count on Randy having the first aid kit, footballs, ice, coolers and bad weather gear in order for each game. Randy was a fierce competitor. He played hard, but always clean and fair. He wanted to win, but it was always with class and sportsmanship.

Randy loved his wife, kids and grandchildren beyond words. I was proud to be friends with a man who adored and cherished his family. If Randy needed a smile on his face after a difficult day, all he had to do was go see his beautiful grand-daughters. They were his world.

I am so pleased that he was able to be here for his son's wedding this past summer. He was so proud and so excited. Memories created will be with us forever.

I feel terrible that his daughter, Lindsey, was so far away during her dad's passing. I hope she realizes how proud her father was of her. The countless conversations he had with me of her accomplishments. He glowed with pride when sharing how quickly she was making her way up the ladder in school. He was overjoyed watching his daughter embark on her promising professional career.

Death of someone so close to us is difficult. Especially when they are taken from us before their time. The risk we take in becoming good friends, is having our heart broken when we lose them. As difficult as it is to say goodbye, I will take the broken heart in exchange for the memories that he has left me, the lessons that he has taught me and the tools that he has allowed me to borrow and shown me how to use.

Friends Forever Boz. Love you.
