Ray and my dad worked in two jobs together as long as I can remember. First was the MPD I believe, and then with the 84th Armored Division for years. There were many stories from both. Phil & Ray kept up with each other for years after both their retirements. I know they were very good friends. I was sorry to hear of his passing just recently. I also believe Ray and Pat visited dad in Florida on occasions. I know he enjoyed the friendship of both always. May God richly Bless his family and his & Pat's true legacy - "a great and large family that endures and keeps his memories alive and in all their hearts". - Steve Pape

I loved seeing Ray on Sunday mornings - Holding the door to church open and always being greeted with his warm and beautiful smile!
He will be missed terribly by the many people he interacted with at church each week.
Ray always made either warm or funny comments and his bright and cheery personality will live on in my very happy memories.
Good Bless You Ray!

I appreciated Ray and Pat in a different wonderful friendship. As the parents of one of my students, it led to an association that lasted for forty years from Pulaski High school through the 84th and the Railsplitters. As chaperones for the Pulaski Rams Band on a 5 day Band contest trip, I found how thoughtful and good they were as they helped make our trip educational and fun.

Ray was also helpful as the cop on duty in getting my pro Band safely away from the crowd at the lakefront after a concert there on the 4th of July.

Ray and Pat were always available when the Rams Band needed parents to help during short local Band performances. And, on a Band trip to UW Band day in Madison, they were there!

At the Railsplitters doings, it was an honor to sit with them recalling all the times we were together.

He was a good man and fine soldier and friend. All will miss him!

Our deepest sympathy in the loss of Ray. My father Ervin worked with Ray on the Milwaukee Police Force for many years and our parents became good friends with Pat and Ray. They spent time together at monthly gatherings or dinners with several other officers and wives. They shared a wonderful friendship over the years and us "the kids" got to know everyone just as well. I will always remember Ray as a kidder and he was always ready with a quick response or quip to make me laugh. He always had something positive to say. Again, we are saddened to hear of Ray's passing and wish your entire family gentle healing and hope memories comfort you in the days ahead.
