Raymond Rucks Obituary

Rucks, Raymond E. Died February 7, 2016 at age 86. He was born in Berlin, WI on October 9, 1929, the third youngest of Frank and Lillian Rucks' 11 children. He graduated from Berlin High School and was drafted into the U.S. Army serving in Alaska during the Korean War. He earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from UW- Madison, where he met and married Marjorie Goetz, the love of his life for 59 ½ years. After they graduated, they moved to Milwaukee where Ray started his 33 year career with AT&T Wisconsin Bell Company. Ray & Marjorie have two children, Steven (Shelly) Rucks of St Paul, MN and Lori (Paul) Kinzer of Waterford, WI. They have four grandchildren, Rebecca & Natalie Rucks and Sandra & Thomas Kinzer. Ray had many hobbies including gardening, woodworking and stained glass. He was especially known for his beautiful stained glass lamps and sun catchers which he shared with family and friends. Ray and Marjorie enjoyed their travel to all 50 states, 8 countries and 3 driving trips to Alaska in a van that Ray customized. Camping with family and friends was also a big part of their life. They spent 25 winters in retirement in Orlando, FL enjoying annual visits from family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 13th at 11 am at St John's Lutheran Church (20275 Davidson Rd, Brookfield, WI) with a visitation starting at 10 am and a luncheon after the service. Memorials to Angels Grace Hospice (N74W35908 Servants Way, Oconomowoc, WI) and St John's Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
