Rebecca Catalano Obituary

Catalano, Rebecca K. After a courageous fight against melanoma, she finally found peace with God on Thursday, June 16, 2011, at the age of 50. Amidst her years of pain, Becky fought through the darkness of her peripheral neuropathy and her cancer to find the light of life in the compassion and love she shared with the world around her. Loving wife of John, and cherished mother to Nicholas, Samantha (Ethan), Jack, and Charlotte. Preceded in death by parents Raymond and Dorothy Broerman, and father-in-law Vincent Catalano. She was also loved by her mother-in-law, Aino Catalano, her siblings, Pat (Harry), Peg (Larry), John (Mary), Ed (Robin), Chuck (Terri), Bob (Evy), Ann (Mark), Karen (Bill), Jim, Tim (Maria), and Mike, and eight in-laws, fifty nieces and nephews, and the countless lives she touched throughout every step of her life. Within her extraordinary life beginning August 7, 1960, she attended Pontiac Township High School, attained nursing certification from Kankakee Community College, and found great fulfillment in her many roles as wife, mother, friend and professional. Visitation Monday, June 20, from 4:00PM until time of Service at 7:00PM at the Funeral Home. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee. If desired, the family suggests memorials to the Rebecca K. Catalano Memorial Fund in care of Associated Bank, Milwaukee.

Dear Catalano Family,
I will always remember Becky's lovely smile and words of encouragement my first year of teaching ( 4 year Kdg.) at Cumberland School. I am happy to say I taught all four Catalano children and had a wonderful time doing so! How fortunate you all were to have had such a wonderful mother/wife in your lives. She left too soon, yet her giving and loving ways will be with you forever. I 'll always remember her eagerness to help and the fun projects she brought and added to the classroom. My sincere sympathy is with you all.

Dearest Becky - Facebook and farming will never be the same without you, but know you are still that Angel looking over my shoulder with internal words of encouragement. John, thank you for taking me to the motel in Pontiac to visit with Becky. My prayers and thoughts go out to your family. Mary Stoeckel Stelow
