I miss you so much! I can not believe it has been oner a year. We you children are doing good. There are many times that we could all use a good dad hug. But you and Mom have kept me filled with your spirit so that I can share it with my boys, as well as those that may need to know how loved and importatnt they are. You and Donna always had a way of making things seem bearable.
I always think of you too!

Dear,Grandpa
I will miss you very much. My best memory with you was when we went to the Angles and Indians game. The last week we had you I would visit everyday after school. Than i would leave and go to football. I love and I will horribly miss you.

My prayers and sympathy go out to all of you. I was saddened to hear of Dick's death. Pat told me last Sunday after Church. Years ago, I used to babysit for all of you (before I entered the convent) when you lived next door to us on 9th Street in Mason City. Your dad was a fun loving person -had a real zest for life. He loved people. Know I'll continue to remember all of you in my prayers.

Donna & family,
The loss of someone so close is difficult to bear. We share your grief. We were saddened to hear of Dick's passing.
We'll never forget the fun and wonderful time we had with Donna, Dick, Marty and Hank Johnson in Las Vegas in 1980.
I'll never forget Dick's laugh as I won a "jackpot" of all nickles. I was on a losing streak during the whole trip, and really valued wiining those nickles!
Donna & Dick came to our wedding and a house party afterwords, 27 years ago today, October 15, 1981. It was always a pleasure being in the Donnelly's company.
Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

A note to Dick's family on his passing -
It is wonderful to read the guest book comments as I had not seen Dick for many, many years. From the notes I've read, he remained the same throughout his life - fun, warm, loving, kind - and those hugs!
We lived next door to Dick on 7th St SE in Mason City when our children were little. What a busy street that was - I think we actually had 40 kids running around on just one block. Later, we drove to Michigan for a vacation, staying at Dick's. My daughter, Sandy, remembers Dick making her sit at the table until she finished her cereal - including all the milk in the bowl. She sat there forever but I think she finally met Dick's "championship bowl" criteria and she was allowed to get up from the table!
Another fond memory is watching Dick dance - he could really move across the floor - everyone wanted to dance with him.
My deepest sympathy to each of you. I hope the wonderul memories shared by all in this guest book help warm your hearts.
If I could turn back time;Hearts remember

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you and whispered “come to me.” With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
With all my love and respect. Rest in peace Mr. Donnelly

My sympathy goes out to all of Dick's children. I babysat for the family for many years and truly loved all of you. I have thought of all of you so often throughout the years and the many great times I had in your home. I felt a part of your family before you moved away from Mason City. Dick was truly a fun loving man.

Dear Donna Donnelly and family,
I have had the pleasure of being Mr. Donnelly's pharmacist for the past 5 years. With his big smile, bigger hugs and neverending kind words, he was easily my favorite patient. He always made my day at work a little brighter. I will miss him tremendously.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Please accept my condolensces.

While I only had the opportunity to meet Dick a few times, it was immediately evident to me where his daughter and my dear friend, Polly, got her light-hearted spirit and her zest for life from. He leaves behind an incredible family who adored him. I know that he will live on forever through them.

Donna, Brenda and all,
What can one say. They just don’t make men like Dick anymore. He was funny, kind and generous who raised a wonderful family. We are fortunate to have been a part of his (extended) family. He will truly be missed.
I know his Irish eyes are shinning upon us all!

Grandpa,
I am truly blessed to have known you for the 28 years of my life. The love that you have shown me is of no explanation. I promise to share and spread the love as you did so I can maybe touch a couple of lives the way you have touched so many. You are my inspiration. I miss our dances together but I will forever be dancing with you in my heart! I love you soooooo much. Thank you!

Donna, Jane, Judy, Pat & the Donnelly family,
My sincere sympathy to each and all of you. When I heard the word Dick had passed away, I thought immediately of what a class guy he was, his warm and caring personality shown through in everything he did and everyone he met. Uncle Leo and Aunt Bernie did an excellent job of raising you kids and Dick was the leader ( in addition to being our grandparents oldest grandchild ). Please know how proud I am to be a cousin to Dick and all of you. I will be thinking of all of you this Saturday morning as you bid farewell to Dick for his final ride. He was a good man and will be missed by so many of us that thought alot of him.
God Bless the Donnelly's !

Dear Donnelly Family -
I was sorry to hear of your father's death. My thoughts and prayers are with you now and always.
An Irish Blessing:
In Time of Sorrow...
May you see God's light on the path ahead
When the road you walk is dark.
May you always hear,
Even in your hour of sorrow,
The gentle singing of the lark.
When times are hard may hardness
Never turn your heart to stone,
May you always remember
when the shadows fall—
You do not walk alone.
Love - Mimi

He brought joy to those who worked with him and knew him, and never took himself too seriously. I had great respect for him. My heartfelt condolences to Donna and his entire family.

To Donna and family; and Jane, Judy and Pat: I was so surprised and saddened to hear of Dick's death. I offer my sympathy to all of you in your loss. I last saw Dick about two years ago in Mason City at Chuck Behr's funeral. He never changed; he was always so warm and friendly and acted like he had just seen you a few days ago. I'm sure my Dad, Ray, was right behind Bernie and Leo to greet him in heaven. All of you are in my prayers. Love, Ruthie (Donnelly) Feld

Pam, Perri, Penny, Polly, Patty, Richard and Donna and all others. Dick was an inspiration to every life he touched. He was always proud of his family and it showed. Being around the Donnelly Family always gave me warm feelings as they always make you feel part of that family and also made me a little jealous of the love, strength and togetherness that was always there. Hang onto this, your dad thought you well and united you are one of the strongest families I know! Being thourgh all this myself, I know how tough it is. Hang onto each other and don't be afraid to count on your friends, we are here for you and love you more than you know!

To all the Donnellys – My deepest sympathy to all of you in your loss. It was fun growing up next door to the Donnellys in Mason City. Dick was an “older guy”, and I always admired him.
I remember him playing high school basketball and what a good dancer he was. He always added life to the party. He and Donna were a good pair, and I’m sorry we didn’t see more of each other here in Milwaukee.
