To the Hackett family,

My thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of loss. I heard Bob Uecker mention Dick's passing during the game tonight. I grew up as the benefactor of Dick's generosity..he and my dad worked together in the early days of the Brewers, and for over 20 ywars, Dick kept us supplied with lots of game tickets and memorabilia (all of which I still have). I have many fond memories of Dick and he is one of the major reasons I am as much of a Brewers fan as I am to this day. He touched many lives and I will always remember him with fondness for the generosity he showed to me in keeping a young fan supplied with lots of great Brewers gifts and to my family for many wonderful games at County Stadium. May God bless you all with comfort knowing Dick rests in His peace.

Dear Jacquie, Im so sorry to hear about the loss of your father. I know only to well how difficult it is to see a parent suffer. He was tired and now all the pain is gone he was called home to the lord to a much better place. You will be reunited again. I believe you were always there for each other and that will never change. He will be with you every day and night cause he lives on through you forever Keep your faith and love and take care of each other. My thoughts are with you and your family. Let's talk soon.

Betsy,
I truly understand how difficult it is to lose a parent, even when they've been ill a long while and expectations of recovery are nil. We simply are never ready. Know that you will never forget all those little things your dad did that made your bond special - these things will sustain you.
Love, Jill

Jacquie and family. You had a great dad and you should feel at peace knowing he is with the Father in heaven. He always looked after you girls and Jacquie, I remember telling your dad that I would help you as much as I could and he smiled and we talked about that. Whatever I can do to help you and your mom, please let me know. I'm sure Kaylie would love to see your mom, so let me know when. My prayers are with you and your family during this time and always. Love, Kristen and my family

Jacquie - You have been a tower of strength for your dad during his struggle with the awful disease he had to battle for so long. He knew how much you loved him and he knew how much you appreciated everything he did for you over the years. He had a heart of gold for all of you. May you be blessed with strength and courage to help your mom through these difficult times. You are a great daughter who was strong enough to work through this to the end. Love, Grace

To the Hackett Family,

I will always remember Dick as a wonderful President of the Milwaukee Council on Alcholism and Drug Abuse (now Impact). It was a pleasure to serve on the Board with him. He gave so much to the Milwaukee community and will be missed. God be with you in your sorrow.
